I’ve read on several websites yesterday that Days is optomistic about renewal. Previously most info leaned toward cancellation, so this seems hopeful. Keeping fingers crossed!

I think I read the negotiations will begin in February, but I think a lot of fans expected to find out about the renewal sometime this month. I just hope February sweeps, which begin on February 4th through March 2nd, will do well and be "must watch" TV for our soap. Oh well, I’m betting on a renewal…..at least for another year. I also think DOOL is on a much stricter budget than the other soaps, and that’s pretty much NBC’s call, but there’s always the possibility of cancellation at some point, although I doubt it will happen this time around; the genre is still too popular IMO. Too many failed daytime talk shows and who wants another hour of The Today Show…..certainly not this fan. If NBC doesn’t care if it loses millions of viewers who love their soap, it’s just plain suicide for the network. Nah, the biggest competition soaps have for daytime, IMO, is the game shows and, of course, each other. Guess it depends on what’s the cheapest to produce. Maybe that’s why some of these high-paid soap actors are being cut and replaced with cheaper actors or written out altogether, but we’ll see how much the cast grows or shrinks over the next few months. I think it’s already starting, but NBC has always been the most budget-conscious, more than other networks it seems.

How many people even notice? There are also a lot of props in the houses and offices that are changed seeming monthly that, again, who notices…beside me, that is?
They spend a lot on props to contribute to the reality that could be done away with, real-looking invoices, letters, newspapers, hospital reports, documents, jewelry, hair extensions (there seems to have been an explosion of them since the fashion show, Theresa’s hair grew a good six inches overnight.) Anyway, there are a lot of places they could cut costs if absolutely necessary.

But with Sami gone. EJ gone. Stefano gone (well OLD Stefano gone anyway – he’s been dull recently due to his health in real life.) Vivian gone (again – first time around Vivian.) It’s all so ho hum lately.
I half watch most of the time, like it’s on but it doesn’t have my full attention I miss my old show, my MUST SEE Days. When the commercials said "Miss a day – miss a lot." Now it’s like watch a day – pass out from boredom.
These teens aren’t doing it for me and too many SL that are boring or I don’t care for. But i’ll whine about it and watch b/c deep down it’s my show. But boy does it take a lot of effort to watch a show 5x that you’re kinda "meh" about.
January 21, 2016 at 11:21 pm #50566caseyParticipantare pretty low energy. I would like to see more drama with Theo as I think he and the autism factor have possibilities. The field seems rather crowded to me with too many characters and undeveloped SLs. Maybe Feb sweeps will bring some excitement.
