James Scott talks about how he would have rewritten the rape scene.

June 13, 2010 at 5:03 pm #13595PattiParticipantI am surprised at James Scott. I have read many interviews from this actor, and he has always maintained a sense of professionalism and intelligence. This one surprises me. I think James should take another look at those scenes.
June 14, 2010 at 6:37 am #13617kayParticipantWhat a putz!
June 14, 2010 at 11:12 am #13620BonbonParticipantLucas goes out and gets a huge one for everyone to see.
I hate that James had to resort to vulgar language to get his point across. IMO, the rape should be put in the past and left there. It causes too much distress on both sides.
June 14, 2010 at 12:18 pm #13623imported_JennMParticipantI’m not easily offended, but yeah, dropping an f-bomb was rather unnecessary and shows a lack of couth.
Of course I don’t think James/EJ is all that and a bag of chips anyway, but that made him even less attractive in my eyes.

June 14, 2010 at 1:25 pm #13626caseyParticipantShame on Mr. Scott for his lack of professionalism. Professionalism means conducting yourself in a manner that does not resort to crudeness. I guess I may be in the minority who does not use/like the f-word, but James has to realize where he is. He’s not shooting the breeze w/friends or at a party, but in a media interview where he needs to edit himself. It shows a woeful lack of respect, and sadly a commentary on where we are as a society where anything goes these days.
June 14, 2010 at 2:35 pm #13632DeeLanParticipantThis doesn’t excuse his behavior/language but have you seen British TV? I’ve always thought it was raunchy and in poor taste. The Benny Hill show comes to mind. I’m sure in England that type of talk isn’t frowned upon in polite society as much as it is here.
June 22, 2010 at 11:47 pm #13849majencoParticipantThe F word doesn’t really offend me but it appears to offend a lot of people and he should be more aware of the audience. Call it what you want, it’s rape if the only option you give the other person is sex or the death of someone they love. It’s psychological rape as well as physical. This storyline has been handled badly and with nowhere near the sensitivity used to deal with the Jack/ Kayla storyline where there was remorse, forgiveness and redemption over time.
June 23, 2010 at 11:27 am #13856imported_JennMParticipantBenny Hill passed away some time ago. It was a lot of "T&A" but I don’t really recall crude language. Same with Monty Python… risquée subject matter, but I don’t recall swearing.
And I’m quite sure that the F-word *is* frowned upon in polite society in England (my father is English… been there myself 5 times).
I’m not offended by the word, heck I’m not offended by much – I used to work in a dispatcher’s office so I’ve heard some that you probably haven’t. But that still doesn’t make it OK.
I too thought it was rather unprofessional and uncouth. He could have chosen a more appropriate and PG rated euphemism, not an X or R rated one.

June 23, 2010 at 8:17 pm #13886missinde22ParticipantI dont think that he intended for his comment to be put in print. Days talk took it upon themselves to post this on the internet, and frankly he could have done so with a little more professionalism.
June 29, 2010 at 2:38 am #14093daysbrokenwingsParticipantI’m right there with you! Love a man with tats, a British man no less! The "f*** bomb", really. I do prefer his re-write tho. I like Sami and EJ together, but I know that won’t last long.
