At first I thought Mel’s return was refreshing. But once more she’s getting on my nerves with her overtly quirky behavior. Those exaggerated facial expressions and her lame attempts to hide what’s she really up to.
Now I applaud her for delving into the fetus stealing incident but she acts so much like a child. I find no chemistry with Brady either. She’s too much a kid for him.
She can be very likable but irritating as well.they don’t see any chemistry between Mel and Brady but I am in the opposite category. I really like them together and am saddened to think of who it is he may be paired up with in the not too distant future. I think they are a very good fit, they know each other’s demons and accept them. I think they are cute together and that Mel was just what Brady needed…nonjudgmental but expecting him to keep his sobriety. and he knows what a “scooch” (don’t know if the spelling is right, something from my husband’s Italian relatives) she is.
that being said also get sick of her exaggerated expressions and little girl “please don’t punish me because I am so cute” faces. She reminds of Melissa Archer in that respect whose exaggerated facial attitudes get on my nerves but good. Especially when she says “THank you” with her tongue sticking out like she did today, Blecch. I can’t wait for Eric to find out what she really is all about.
I was really glad to know MB was returning, but they have written the character of Melanie as a stuttering, stammering, finger-picking (I hate when she does that with her fingers) nitwit at least 95% of the time she is on. For me the biggest factor was pairing her with Brady, who have never had a romantic chemistry but more of a big brother/little sister vibe to me. Huge disappointment on her return and I won’t be sorry to see her leave. Unfortunately, I imagine we’ll have to get through the baby-theft and, very likely, she will come out a hero there, but the bad news is she will lose Brady because of it. Then, it’s buh-bye Mel! Since she has already left the building, I expect we’ll see her through May sweeps and perhaps into early summer. Still, this time around Melanie was a total fail ….
I have never been a Mel fan. I don’t like her expressions or her goofy ways and her "in your face attitude". I think it was dumb when she went out of her way to defend Brady against Theresa to the point of fighting with her . I also think she is too young for Brady. I really didn’t get why she came back and think her return was a failure.
