I know we have some DWTS fans here. What do you think of the new line-up? I think it’s a good one but I predict that Evan Lysecek will win. I think the Olympians definitely have an edge over the others because of their talents (especially the ice skaters) and their discipline. But that’s okay, I still love watching them.
And I think a lot of people are going to be surprised to see what kind of person Kate Gosslin really is. I don’t think she deserves the label of horrible person/wife/mother that so many people have hung on her. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say, I hope she wins.
Also looking forward to seeing Buzz Aldrin. But, let’s face it, these older people just can’t make it physically, unless they work out everyday like Clint Eastwood does. Even then, our muscles and stamina just can’t compete with the younger ones. But it’s fun to have them on there and see just how far they can go. Look at Susan Lucci. She really surprised me at how long she lasted for being in her 60x.
March 2, 2010 at 5:17 pm #10982PattiParticipantbut I don’t know, Bonbon, I’ll never forget when Cloris Leachman threw her leg up onto the judges table (that was Cloris, wasn’t it). I thought I would never get up off the floor from laughing so hard. The old gal still has the stamina of a much, much younger woman, plus she was funny as all hell with her responses to the judges. Olympic skaters will do well, because they train in dance as part of their program. Sometimes I don’t think it’s fair to the other contestants who have no dance background, but I’ll be rooting for him. I’m not a big fan of Kate Gosslin; I think they were both at fault and their total greed for the money, plus the exploitation of their family, led to their demise as a couple. That, plus she did boss him around like one of the kids in the earlier years. Public humiliation only goes so far. Anyway, as always, I look forward to DWTS and this season will be no exception.
March 2, 2010 at 9:48 pm #10991luckeyParticipantfirst week to see how it pans out. I’m wondering how Pam Anderson is going to keep from spilling out of her costume. I see that Cheryl got herself another football player this year. Niecy Nash will probably drive everyone crazy with her screeching voice. All in all, it will be interesting to some degree.
March 2, 2010 at 10:19 pm #10995caseyParticipantBuzz might be the 1st to go. I agree Evan should do well and interested to see how Bachelor Jake does, as doesn’t he have some dancing experience?
March 3, 2010 at 10:26 pm #11031PattiParticipantwill be Aiden Turner, that absolutely gorgeous Aussie formerly on AMC (his character was also named Aiden). If he dances half as good as he looks, he already won (LOL)!
March 4, 2010 at 12:38 pm #11051BonbonParticipantwould have been a good candidate for the show since he appeared in Seven Brides for 7 Brothers so we know he can at least dance some. But, I suppose since Days is on NBC and DWTS is on ABC, we’ll never see anyone from Days. In fact, I’d also love to see (Patti, close your eyes) EJ on it too. I think he could be another Gilles.
But I’m really looking forward to this season. This is probably my mostest favoritest show on right now. I love the music, the costumes, the choreography, and seeing the personal sides of the ‘stars.’
I’m wondering how they choose which dancer dances with which star. It seems like Cheryl always gets the football players. And Max always gets the ‘strong’ women. And poor Edyta always seems to get the ‘losers.’
March 31, 2010 at 1:23 pm #11656caseyParticipantI only caught a couple performances so have no idea who did what. Did viewers agree with the decision? Was Shannon worse than Buzz or did something else factor in?
March 31, 2010 at 2:34 pm #11661PattiParticipantbut I would have let Pam Anderson go instead. She didn’t do bad with her dancing, but her OTT gestures and sexual innuendos were a little much. I mean, is she serious? The way she throws those ta-ta’s around, I think she really believes she is Marilyn Monroe (LMAO). Her partner even looked a little embarrassed to me. Although I love Evan Lysacek and would hope he does win, I think they’re already building up Nicole Scherzinger (2 10’s last night) to be the dancer to beat. She is good, AND she also has the best partner in Derrick (sp?). Buzz Alderson and Kate Gosselin got the ‘sympathy’ vote last night. I love Tony Dovolani, but there’s only so much you can do with someone with two left feet who looks scared to death, and Kate, I’m afraid that’s you.
March 31, 2010 at 7:47 pm #11674luckeyParticipantis a popularity contest, they are definitely not the sharpest pencil in the box! Buzz or Kate should have been the one voted off. Shannon wasn’t great, but she was so much better than either of them. Good grief! Kate forgot most of the steps to the entire dance! I was surprised that Pam was in the bottom two. I figured that the male viewers would vote for her just so they could keep watching her every week.
April 3, 2010 at 4:18 pm #11741BonbonParticipantthe fan’s response. Buzz and Kate were terrible but I think they have more fans than Shannen or Pam. IMO, Pam is disgusting and I was really hoping she’d be gone right away. I was secretly rooting for Kate because she has done such a daring and courageous thing to go up against all those show business people with no experience in that area at all. I think it was a very brave thing to do. And, she’s trying her darndest to support those eight cute little kids the best she can. That’s gotta be a pretty scary think to be facing. I’m sure she’s not getting much help from Jon.
But as for Buzz, geeze, he’s 80 years old for cryin’ out loud. How good can we expect him to be?
I think Nicole is absolutely the one to beat. She’s head and shoulders above all the rest.
Patti, what is your first favorite reality show?
April 3, 2010 at 9:32 pm #11746shadowParticipantyou never watched Jon and Kate plus 8, or you would not have such a good opinion of Kate Gosselin. Don’t feel sorry for her.
April 3, 2010 at 10:31 pm #11748GoodyParticipantShadow, I am in complete agreement.
Goody
April 3, 2010 at 10:50 pm #11749BonbonParticipantAnd, although I thought she treated Jon horribly, she is now trying to do the best for her family. I know a lot of people don’t like her but I do. Sorry.
April 4, 2010 at 4:19 am #11751shadowParticipantI think we have a lot of the same opinions on several subjects.
April 5, 2010 at 2:42 pm #11766PattiParticipantbut after this year, I don’t think it will survive for another year. Now I’m really split between DWTS and, of all things to believe, TOP CHEF. Last season both brothers in the final were originally from Maryland, one still residing here and owning his own restaurant in Frederick County; the other (the winner) is now out on the West Coast, I believe. In any case, I love that show and each week it amazes me to see the great top chefs from around the world judging their work habits as well as their dishes. It also is inconceivable to me to see how these young contestants (still chefs themselves) adapt (and some NOT) in such a sort period of time, sometimes with ingredients they’ve never used before, racing against the clock and coming up with THE most amazing dishes. Each week the contestant with the least impressive creation goes home. Can you tell, I love to cook??? (LOL)
