Everyone did pretty well with dances that have never been done before. It was interesting to see the pros out of their comfort zone right along with the stars. I liked every dance and thought they all did well. I’m still of the opinion that Bristol and Kirstie are the weakest in performance and need to leave. Louie reminded Sarina that those two have very strong fan bases that will be hard to overcome. That told me that he also feels they are not the strongest dancers but could continue on due to the viewers votes. Karina took a pretty hard fall and I bet she’s got some bruises to show for it. I do feel we could have done without Paula Abdul. She didn’t add anything to last night’s show in my opinion. It just looks like she can’t find a job and is begging to be seen on TV.
October 16, 2012 at 1:47 pm #35943MKParticipantI thought last night was ridiculous. This is a ballroom competition and hip hop? Seriously? Although enjoyable, they should not be done in a ballroom (unless maybe freestyle). The Charleston was appropriate and the jitterbug (or whatever Tony danced to) but hip hop, contemporary are not ballroom dances. Kelly and Val’s dance would have been great in another venue, but not for this show. I think the show is jumping the shark a bit. They should stick to the ballroom dances.
I’m predicting that as usual, Bristol and Kirstie will be safe and somebody more deserving will be out.
October 16, 2012 at 2:03 pm #35946BonbonParticipantI wouldn’t have any idea who to vote for. They are all doing so well. Heck, even Bristol has improved greatly, although still not level with the other stars, I think she could now hold her own during a regular season.
I guess if you put a gun to my head I’d say that I’d like Gilles to win. I think he and Pita do a great job together, although you certainly can’t forget about Kelly and Val. Last night I saw a little bit of Maks coming out in Val…his (to me, anyway) false modesty and the extreme "chemistry" they were trying to portray. I almost had to unswallow over that one, but they were very good.
October 16, 2012 at 2:19 pm #35947PattiParticipantBristol may be improving, but Kirstie is still a hot mess for me. My poor Maks! But, you’re probably right, MK; they’ll be safe and someone who really deserves to be there will be eliminated. Sometimes I think the votes are being cast for Maks and Mark rather than for Kirstie and Bristol.
October 16, 2012 at 3:43 pm #35948MKParticipantI want Gilles to win too, Bonbon. I keep going back and forth between him and Sabrina. I would like to see somebody win who has never won before.
And about Bristol, this season is not about improvement. This is all-stars and Bristol keeps getting points for improving while people way better than here, still get penalized for any little mistake. I have nothing against Bristol as she seems like a very nice girl and I give her a lot of credit for being on the show the first time, but— there are people who are better dancers getting voted out before her (Helio). Yes, she has improved and is not a bad dancer but not on the par of anybody else there.
I can not figure out Kelly Monaco. I do not like her as I’ve stated before. Does she ever smile? She never looks as if she’s having fun. I didn’t like her on Dirty Soaps and I don’t like her on this show. It’s not just her not smiling much—-there’s just something about her I can’t stand. Can’t quite put my finger on it. Just a feeling I have when I see her. Was she supposed to be all over Val during the entire show with her head buried in his chest? It was weird. And even when they were showing the dancers sitting in the background when Brooke is interviewing the latest dancers, she never smiled one time.
October 16, 2012 at 3:49 pm #35949BonbonParticipantabout Bristol. She shouldn’t have been on in the first place but I was just giving her credit for improving. She should have been gone the first show. I didn’t realize she had such a following.
And I don’t like Kelly either and it started watching Dirty Soaps. There’s just something about her. And I started wondering last night if she might be a lesbian. She’s never been married, had only one relationship and that woman you see in the audience is always with her. Not that it matters, just wondering.
October 16, 2012 at 4:02 pm #35950daysfanParticipantI’m not sure I have a favorite yet that I want to win but I agree with you, MK, about Bristol. This is not about how she has improved and I honestly did not think that she deserved 8s for her score. I did wonder a bit though, that maybe the judges thought if they didn’t put her at the bottom of the scoreboard, her fanbase would feel that she was safer and not go crazy voting for her. Does that make sense?
As for Kelly, I don’t mind her, but I agree that she just doesn’t seem to smile much. And that hanging all over Val was definitely weird. But there was a brief mention that she broke one of her toes Monday morning, and her dance was done barefoot so I can imagine that she was trying to block out anything around her and was just concentrating on getting through her dance. The second her dance was done, she was holding her right foot up off the floor. And I am sure that is why Val carried her down the stairs and then up the other stairs. If she gets through to next week, I have to wonder how she is going to practice with that broken toe.
October 16, 2012 at 4:35 pm #35951MKParticipantYou raise a very good point, daysfan, about the judges possibly over-scoring Bristol so that her fanbase maybe wouldn’t worry so much about her and therefore not vote for her so much. And maybe to avoid the sympathy vote if she got low scores? Who knows. She got 8’s from all of the judges and yet Karina and Apolo got three 8.5’s and (one 9). Though I didn’t like hip hop on this show, they still danced it well and should have had 9’s in my opinion. Sabrina got one 8.5 and it was from Paula. I hope Paula is not there tonight. What is this show trying to prove? They don’t need a guest judge unless one of the regular judges could not be on a particular night.
October 16, 2012 at 7:02 pm #35952shadowParticipantBut, I can’t watch Sabrina and those teeth!!. She looks like she has an extra row of bottom teeth when she smiles. I don’t really like her and I don’t want her to win. There are so many good dancers. Melissa is a favorite of mine. She seems to have a great personality.
October 17, 2012 at 1:12 pm #35966PattiParticipantand Bristol got the boot. Kirstie can’t be far behind. I can just see her ruining Maks’ chances once again to take home the mirror-ball trophy. I can’t see her doing well in next week’s fast moving freestyle, so maybe if she goes home, the rest of the stars will finally have a chance to compete for "best dancer" and prove beyond a doubt that when it comes to dancing, it’s not WHO you know, but WHAT you SHOW on the dance floor that counts.
October 17, 2012 at 2:36 pm #35975BonbonParticipantIt’s always going to be a popularity contest with who has the biggest fan base winning. And I think it’s very strange that we never see or hear a count of the fans’ votes. I really hate to say it but I now believe that the whole thing is in the hands of the producers.
October 17, 2012 at 2:56 pm #35978MKParticipantI can’t believe Bristol is actually out. I thought for sure that when they announced that she was in jeopardy that it was just to mislead us and that she’d still be safe. Kirstie has to be next though we all know how this can go.
Tom said that next week’s show is on at 8:00 and is only one hour (because of the debate). I think that is awesome as there will be far fewer commercials since all of the couples have their individual dances and then the two team dances. There will be less filler, too.
