I was switching between the Voice and Dancing last night but did manage to catch most of the dances.
I was absolutely stunned at the praise that Michael Waltrip received on his so-called tango!! I thought the judges were going to rip him apart since he walked through the entire dance! There was no dancing there at all. It was terrible! This is week 7 and he is not improving one tiny bit. I would much rather have had Jonathan stay but I guess Michael has a terrific fan base.
I liked Leah Remini last night. Though she can be over-the-top, I really enjoyed her interviews.
And why do they have non-dancers fill in as judges? They always end up saying "I’m not a dancer", so why are they on there? I know it’s just for entertainment.
October 21, 2014 at 2:06 pm #45658PattiParticipantswitching back and forth between DWTS and The Voice. I just love that show (The Voice). They always have such great talent, and it’s so hard to choose in these battle rounds.
I just adore Sadie on DWTS, and I’m really rooting for her. She’s so darn cute and she works well with Mark. I think she’ll go a long way if she stops letting her parents dictate her moves with Mark, but she is so young, so I guess I can see their point to some extent. Then again, Mark is so gracious and tries to adhere to their requests, but sometimes I think it just makes Sadie nervous in that she’s not dancing for herself, but for her parents’ approval.
I agree with you about Leah; she’s really good but sometimes I think she goes overboard with trying to be “too sexy”. She seems to try a little too hard to compete with the women pros, and it shows.
Also agree with the show picking judges who are not professional dancers trying to give their critique, especially when they have someone like Paula Abdul sitting in the audience.

The fact that the choreography limits him speaks volumes. He must have an enormous following to remain this long.
Sadie’s lines are gorgeous and she is a natural mover, but I feel she is too restricted in how far she can go. Most of the dances are reflective of sexual chemistry and there’s nothing wrong with that. As one of the judges said, sexy doesn’t have to mean raunchy or erotic, but there needs to be an element of attraction. What show did she think she was doing?October 21, 2014 at 4:54 pm #45665MKParticipantPatti, I just started watching the Voice last season and was really surprised how much I like it. Those judges sure have tough decisions to make in those battles and I absolutely love the banter between Adam and Blake. I just love those two! I like Pharell and Gwen as the newbies. They seem like really down to earth people.
I also like Sadie on Dancing. I think she has a natural ability.
October 23, 2014 at 4:37 am #45688BonbonParticipantthe incompatibility of the music with the dance being performed. There have been way too many times the dance would have come off so much better if it had been performed with appropriate music. I’ve noticed especially the tango, passo roble and the waltz where they are trying to impossibly make a song fit. Why do they do that? Is it to show the adaptability of the pros to be able to perform a 3/4 time dance to a 4/4 time song? I don’t know but I hate it.
October 23, 2014 at 11:07 am #45691PattiParticipantit’s not as if there isn’t enough music/songs written that would properly fit the dance being performed. I can’t appreciate that about DWTS either.
October 23, 2014 at 11:14 am #45692PattiParticipantand it’s obvious there’s no rehearsal to it. They are both very quick-witted and, at the same time, obviously are great friends. I started watching The Voice when American Idol got so bad between the talent and the judging, I just had to give up on it.
