What did everyone think of the show last night? I was all excited for the Halloween show and the costumes and set did not disappoint. I thought the set was fantastic! However, the music, once again, left something to be desired. I can’t even believe (well by now I should) that JR and Karina danced a tango to Ghostbusters! Really??? Even JR said to Brooke that even though it’s a good song, it’s tough to dance a tango to it. No wonder he didn’t do as good as usual. I understand that there will be at least one dance you may not be great at, but I bet if JR got an actual tango song, that he would have done much better (though I don’t think he did badly at all).
The rest of the music was terrible as well as far as fitting the style of the dances. They could have easily still had a Halloween show complete with costumes and decorations/special effects and just had matching music. But I guess if they don’t do that any other time (except for maybe Broadway night) then why should I expect it on Halloween night. But I just found last night’s music even worse than usual as far as complementing the dances. The group dances were fun. I think Nancy will probably go home tonight though I wouldn’t be unhappy if it was Rob. I really can NOT stand any of the Kardashians and I don’t even know why he is on the show.
November 1, 2011 at 2:58 pm #28233luckeyParticipantthe musical numbers did not fit the dance routines as well as they could have. With Nancy, I couldn’t help but compare other more accomplished stars with her last night as she tried to do the Jive. It just didn’t look like the Jive at all to me. I’m hoping she goes home tonight. Rob has surprised me with how much he’s improved; while, he’s certainly not at the top, I don’t think he should leave just yet. David has shown weekly improvement too and deserves to stay another week. Hope looked really good last night with more flexibility and fluidity in her movements, so I hope she stays too. Then there’s JR and Ricki…the top two no doubt. I agree that "Ghost Busters" was an appropriate song for last night’s theme, but not for a Tango…no way!
As for Rob being on the show, his last name is at the top of Pop Culture right now and it draws viewers…if not to watch him, then to see what members of his family show up in the audience.

Especially when there is so much excellent, appropriate music out there. Maybe it’s time for the pros and the stars to put their foot down (ala Maks) and say something to the producers.
Did anybody else think the judges were a little more subdued with their comments last night? I think Maks may have gotten his point across.
November 1, 2011 at 9:05 pm #28246PattiParticipantat least I hope so, because if she’s safe, then she’s going to send someone home who is much more deserving to be there at this point than she is. Rikki and Derek were the best last night, hands down. I don’t think Rob Karkashian is all that either, but his and Cheryl’s Gomez and Morticia was spot-on last night. He even looked like Gomez with his hair all slicked off to one side. Halloween was certainly outdone on quite a few shows this year. All of the remaining soaps had terrific halloween parties written into their shows this year, which is unusual.
November 2, 2011 at 11:23 am #28254BonbonParticipantI can’t believe they let him go. No, he wasn’t the greatest dancer but he’s far better than Rob and Nancy. I can’t believe that Nancy has that many fans that they are keeping her going this long.
So next week it HAS to be either Nancy or Rob. They can’t possibly make any other choice.
As to the bad music, even Bruno mentioned (again) last night how difficult that song (Ghostbusters) was for AJ to do a tango to. Somebody PLEASE take the hint!!!
November 2, 2011 at 1:08 pm #28261PattiParticipantwhat a spectacular results show …. and I don’t even like Justin Bieber, but my granddaughters went wild. Everything from the set to the costumes, and that young girl who danced who had the brain tumor, what a wonderful story she had to tell. The whole results show last night was terrific, until we came to the final two. No way should David Arquette have been sent home. Nancy Grace, try as she may, is nowhere near the talent of anyone who was on that stage last night, and that probably includes Tom Bergeron. Shameful to send someone home who does not deserve it, and, at the same time, keep someone who, again, does not deserve it.
November 2, 2011 at 1:35 pm #28268SWParticipantpushing her fans to keep her there. I agree Patti, I found it interesting that Y&R had a Halloween party this year since they have rarely had one before. It makes me wonder if they all talk and decide to do the same things. Victoria was a huge embarrassment singing. I know she was supposed to be drunk but ick!
November 2, 2011 at 2:17 pm #28273BonbonParticipantThat was the first time I heard him sing and, I’m sorry, but I don’t see any talent there whatsoever. He has NO strength* or quality to his voice (notice how he kept adjusting his mike?) and he acts like he’s a little 8th grader trying look cool…unsuccessfully I might add. He’s a real turn-off for me and I can’t for the life of me figure out what these teeny-boppers see in him. I think it is a case of good promotion on someone’s part (probably Usher).
* If you want someone with strength to his voice, listen to Tony Bennett. I saw him once in a very large venue and he turned off the mike and sang a capella and everyone in the whole place heard him, loud and clear. And at 82 years old at the time. But then, Justin Beiber will never be a Tony Bennett…NEVER!
November 2, 2011 at 2:34 pm #28276PattiParticipantbut then we’re not tweens to teens either. Guess it’s whatever floats your boat! LOL.
November 2, 2011 at 4:30 pm #28281caseyParticipantjust heard today some 20 yr old woman is accusing him of fathering her child.
November 2, 2011 at 7:00 pm #28282shadowParticipantwith Justin Bieber. I had never seen or heard him before last night. He’s no better than some of these other so called singers that these teens so crazy over. Most of the time, you can’t even understand the words. The young lady that sang when the ballerina was performing, was much better than Bieber. Taylor Swift is one I can’t for the life of me see what everyone sees in her. I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s and the music was great. Everytime I hear a song from that era, I remember what a wonderful time it was.
November 5, 2011 at 3:51 am #28354BonoSugaRayParticipantBelieve it, BonBon! lol lol And I’m one of ’em! Nancy ROCKS!
…I don’t expect her, however, to win it all — although it would be awesome–(it’s either gonna be JR or Ricki, the two best dancers of ’em all), but I do expect her to make it to the final three!
And as far as a really good, scary Halloween song to dance off of: "SOMEBODY’S WATCHING ME" by Rockwell (ft/ Michael Jackson)…Goes a lil’ something like this: "When I’m in the shower I’m afraid to wash my hair Cause I might open my eyes and find someone standing there People say I’m crazy, just a little touched But maybe showers remind me of psycho too much That’s why…I always feel like somebody’s watching me, and I have no provacy."
On that note: It’s time for the Kardashian to pack his bags and go next week.
