So far I think the eliminations have gone as expected. NeNe can play the role but her technique is lacking.
I can’t imagine Meryl not winning this. If I didn’t know she wasn’t a pro it’s be tough to guess.

I can’t believe they called it "Latin Night".  How many Latin songs were played?  Not many from what I saw.  And why were there other dancers in some of the routines?

I agreed most with Len last night on the scoring.  He gave NeNe a 7 and that’s all she deserved.  Her footwork is terrible.  She doesn’t really dance so it was a good call in her elimination.

And regarding Danica’s fractured rib, why is it so darn important to continue dancing with such an injury?  I can understand if she did it as a career and had to go on, but it’s not her career and to risk further injury is ridiculous.  And it’s still hurting her and affected her dancing last night.  And I also don’t understand why there have to be lifts in the first place (isn’t that how she got injured?).  This is a dancing show and that’s what I want to see; not lifts.

I hope Amy Purdy is okay.

some of her balance in her routines leaves something to be desired, but she does them, and I give her all the credit in the world for showing she can; however, some of the chances she takes on her artificial limbs looks very dangerous if she were to go down. God bless her, though; she’s a trooper and when she gets them right, they look absolutely beautiful. I agree that people who are injured and continue are asking for trouble down the road where their health is concerned.

to admit you’re in pain.  I don’t inderstand that.  Is that supposed to be some kind of character because you can smile through the pain and just pooh-pooh it?  Heck, when I hurt, I want everybody else to know it!  I have had a broken rib and it hurts like HELL!  (My doctor broke it sticking a trocar in me for arthroscopic surgery…nice, huh?)

when I fractured a rib from a very hard sneeze, if you can believe it. All I remember now is that it hurt so damn much, and I felt like I couldn’t breathe properly for about a week. Certainly didn’t feel like dancing through the pain.

wonder if these supposed problems are really just cooked up to give them something to talk about or make someone appear more sympathetic. Did she even appear to have her ribs taped up under that skimpy little top, although I don’t know if they even do that anymore for broken ribs.

I allows the muscles to atrophy. And, yes, I believe you broke a rib sneezing. I guess that’s fairly common. My first (of several broken ribs) happened when I was sweeping the sidewalk. Oh yeah, breathing is very painful and you almost try to avoid doing it.

But, the thing with DWTS is that they typically shoot them full of an lidocaine or some other powerful anesthetic and a large dose of pain killers so they can continue with their performance. I guess as long as it isn’t something that dancing would cause more harm, they feel justified in masking the pain so they can go on. I would probably do the same thing. I watched Danica again after her dance and it was pretty apparent she was in some intense pain.
