There were a lot of “A” games brought to the dance floor last night. The one thing that I was flabbergasted at was Len’s score of 7 for Kellie and Derek on their Paso. I hope he watched a replay and admits that the required movements were in the dance like Derek said. I’m really enjoying Alexandra and Mark too.
Going home tonight…I think it will be Sean.
May 7, 2013 at 2:45 pm #39552PattiParticipantbecause they are simply fabulous. I guess they didn’t do enough matador and the bull moves for his liking. I, too, thought everyone brought it last night —- except poor Sean, who gets in his own way most nights. If the voting is fair and people vote on the dancing and not on favoritism, then Sean should go tonight, but it would not surprise me if it was Ingo or Jacoby. One thing I will predict is that those three girls (Zendaya, Kellie and Aly) will be the last 3 standing.
May 7, 2013 at 4:03 pm #39558BonbonParticipantfor Zendaya and Val’s fox trot. My thoughts were, she is not going to be allowed to win this thing, regardless of her ability. That girl is positively amazing, especially when you consider she is only 16. I hope they get hip-hop for next week. She’ll KILL that one.
Yes, the guys aren’t the greatest this season. And I really think it’s much easier for the guys than the girls because the focus is usually on them while the guys just basically push them around and hold them for dips, spins, etc. They don’t do near the footwork that the girls do.

I could see Len’s point but I didn’t think he should have gone so far as a 7. That was really a slap in the face as I thought the dance was very good.
I’m still trying to figure out how her dress went from white to black. I’ve stopped the recording and went frame by frame and still can’t see it. I really believe they stopped the camera for a second or two. I know they can do that with when they use the 3-second delay which I think it pretty much the norm now days with live TV. If not, it was very well done. I wonder if that was Derrick’s idea or the producers.

May 8, 2013 at 1:06 pm #39586PattiParticipantaffected everyone. I know it affected me. I could not believe he gave them the same score he gave Sean. That was outrageous.
I expected Sean to go home, and I even expected Jacoby to be in the bottom 3, but with Ingo and Kym, not with Kellie and Derek. Just goes to prove the point we always make, that you never know with these reality shows.
As for Kellie’s dress, guess I wasn’t paying attention because I never noticed it, but I do think that’s all trick photography, like the floor, and that dance Derek performed last night with (forgot her name) ….. dancing on the walls, the ceiling. That was terrific. I would imagine that changing colors on something can’t be that hard for the camera to do.
May 8, 2013 at 2:42 pm #39587BonbonParticipantit was the whole dress. And, don’t forget, that is LIVE TV.
At least with the revolving room they showed us ahead of time what it looked like. That was a great number and very well done. Nothing new though because Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly (forget which one) did that in a move years and years ago, however, not on live TV so much easier to do. I think that Derrick is one smart guy and will go far in this business…if…he doesn’t let his ego get in the way.
May 8, 2013 at 3:21 pm #39588PattiParticipantI knew I remembered that dance from an old movie and just could not remember who did it. I think it was Fred Astair.
May 8, 2013 at 5:12 pm #39589BonbonParticipantYes, it was Fred Astaire in Royal Wedding. There is a You Tube of it but I’m on my iPad and it can’t be shown on a mobile device. I will look at it later when I’m on my PC to see how it compares to theirs.
