Well, tonight will decide if Bristol Palin will win this. She’s got a shot, I have to admit it. She’s the only one with no experience in dance, song, or acting, and yet the most improved. Hey, it could happen. I thought everyone did well last night, and it’s going to be a hard choice, but she deserves a lot of credit just for staying in there, even though she’s been criticized the most; not just here, everywhere.
November 16, 2010 at 2:53 pm #18192BonbonParticipantif Bristol wins. She’s got a whole state (and the largest, at that) behind her. I believe the Alaskans are supporting her whether or not they agree with her mom’s politics. She has really put Alaska in the limelight and I think they are plugging for her all the way.
I have been waffling back and forth between Brandy and Jennifer but last night I think Jennifer put it in the bag. When you get six perfect scores in a row, that’s pretty hard to beat. (I don’t think Carrie Ann likes either Brandy or Maks so they are pretty much doomed.) Although, I think Brandy’s fan base has been increasing due to her background they have been showing us. There’s probably a lot of sympathy votes there.
But, if this show is based on talent, tonight either Kyle or Bristol has to go. I still maintain Kayle doesn’t have any more talent than Bristol but he’s got the overwhelming enthusiasm and charisma that’s keeping him going.
November 16, 2010 at 7:23 pm #18197BonoSugaRayParticipantWell, I’d be SHOCKED if she actually STAYS after tonight! I can’t believe ppl have even voted as much for her to remain on the show this long (I’d take retired QB Kurt Warner over her any day)! First off, she’s not even a STAR to even be on the show (who in the world even considered her in the first place?)! Sure, she has ‘improved,’ but is absolutely NOT as good as the other final three (I don’t care what anyone says). If, in the end, she does win, the entire show is a JOKE! For one, the lady who played on Dirty Dancing, is the ABSOLUTE BEST OF THE FINAL FOUR! Singer Brandy is simply flawless in her execution! And Kyle…Well, I don’t need to remind anyone about him; you all have seen the footage! The guy is an absolute ENTERTAINER! Everytime he and his partner performs, I’m excited! They do a great job of entertaining! He and his partner are so colorfully entertaining in every performance they do!
November 16, 2010 at 9:46 pm #18204PattiParticipantbut Bonbon is right. I’m sure the state of Alaska would disagree with us. She’s (Bristol) getting the maximum number of votes allowed from every household member in the entire state, of this I have no doubt.
November 17, 2010 at 4:57 am #18213BonoSugaRayParticipantAgreed. But you know what? It ain’t fair! Those Alaskans – just like anyone else – should vote based solely on the true dancing skills of the dancer! So now, it all comes down to Kyle, Bristol and the amazing actress from Dirty Dancing (whose name I don’t even know; sorry)…Clearly, the Dirty Dancing lady is absolutely THE BEST OF ‘EM ALL! If Bristol ends up beating out her and Kyle, you know something’s wrong. lol
November 17, 2010 at 10:24 am #18216SWParticipantthat has it put on their website to vote for her and how to do it, how many times, etc. They showed it on one of the entertainment shows last night before the winners were announced. The show no longer is based on the best dancing in my opinion! Voting off one of the best dancers in favor of a lesser one says it all!
November 17, 2010 at 12:14 pm #18217kprstrsParticipantIt has NEVER been about who is the best dancer, but who is the most popular. Jennifer Gray (Dirty Dancing) should win this hands down. However, she probably will not, as most folks who vote don’t even know WHO she is! Bristol is the most ‘popular’ by far, so she probably WILL win. I just wish people wouldn’t feel the need to politicize everything. Let her stand or fall on her own.
November 17, 2010 at 12:30 pm #18221BonbonParticipantBut I did say I wouldn’t be surprised if she won the whole thing. The only thing that disappointed me was that Brandy and Maks were voted off over Kyle. I think maybe Maks may have been a detriment because a lot of people don’t like him because of his arrogance, although I really appreciated his remarks about bring his family to America. More natural-born Americans should have that attitude. I felt so bad for Brandy because, IMHO, she should have won the whole enchalada. You could tell, they were truly shocked. And, did you notice that they didn’t show Mark and Bristol’s reactions. I just hope that Maks’ personality doesn’t keep him from returning next season because of this.
I will not fault the show for this though. It’s nothing new because practically every season someone who should have stayed was voted off because someone else had a bigger fan base. There’s no disputing that now. As long as the public has a say in it, things like this will happen. In fact, it’s rather obvious to me that Kyle has a bigger fan base than Brandy, otherwise he would have been voted off.
And I just DO NOT want Jennifer and Derrick to win. I don’t like her, she always has such a smug look on her face and boo-hooing about her "injuries," and he’s won twice already now, he always seems to get the more talented dancers as partners. And that’s something that’s not fair that COULD be different.
Oh, well, that’s show business.
November 17, 2010 at 2:02 pm #18223caseyParticipantI wonder if Brandi’s past had an influence on voters. She did not win me over during and after that tragic car accident. I never got a sense of how traumatized and sorry she was. Plus, she has always struck me as a diva type whose body of work really doesn’t warrant it.
However, that said, if this is a dance competition and she was getting tens, she should have stayed.November 17, 2010 at 2:53 pm #18225BonoSugaRayParticipantAgreed!
November 17, 2010 at 4:09 pm #18230PattiParticipantthat people would vote off a talent like Brandy, and I’m surprised Maks held his temper long enough to get through the end of last night’s show. I don’t care how popular Bristol Palin is, as a dancer she is at the bottom each and every week, and her still being there is strictly a political move on the party’s part to keep her in there. I do agree, though, that Maks and Brandy are, at times, too aggressive, especially Maks (who has a really hard time controlling himself). I saw one instance where she actually put her hand to his mouth because of some critique he did not agree with, and Brandy has shown her own side of this coin at times as well. Kyle and Lacey I could watch all day, they are just that adorable and entertaining, but Jennifer Gray should get the final vote, although I’m getting a little tired of Derek getting the best dancers every season. Oh, well, congratulations Bristol, even though it is my opinion that you do not belong in the finals considering you have been last on the leader-board for the past 7 weeks now.
November 17, 2010 at 4:53 pm #18232BonoSugaRayParticipantPatti, I absolutely agree!
November 17, 2010 at 5:01 pm #18233ellenkbParticipantAnyone know how the votes are weighted? they say it’s a combination of judges scores with the public vote, but just how much do their leaderboard scores count? If it’s the Tea Party that has pushed Bristol through then I am done with this show (not that they care). I wish the producers would have the good sense not to invite anyone to participate who is even remotely connected to a party or politician. This country has been polarized enough – don’t need this kind of bias influencing the outcome of a dance competition!
