I have to say I was surprised at how generous Dance Mom Abby was. I expected – as Maks said “She terrifies me” – a highly critical, low scoring performance from her. But although she sprinkled in some technical critiques she essentially praised the contestants and gave out as high or higher scores than the panel.
Was a bit surprised Danika left before James but perhaps her injured performance last week did her in.unless, of course, someone really screws up badly to the point that it’s very obvious. They’re all that darn good, IMO. I thought Amy’s Argentine Tango last night was superb. Some will still say she get’s the sympathy votes when, the truth of the matter is, that girl is fantastic. Unless I look at her feet, I would never believe she had none. Her control is superb, and I’m guessing the strain she feels is obviously due to having to use muscles all over her body to keep up. I’m still backing Maks and Meryl, though. I just love them to death, and hope they win. By the way, what Maks said last night was justified; that “he did not care anything about what Abbey said.” LMAO. That young man tells it like it is, and sometimes I think he gets punished for it.
I think the crap she deals out on her show is not the real Abby Lee Miller and I don’t believe for one minute she is the ogre she portrays, otherwise those girls wouldn’t worship her like they do. Yet most of the time she looked terribly uncomfortable to me and totally out of her element and I thought her comments weren’t much more than fluff. But I was really shocked when Maks said he didn’t care about anything she had to say. I was surprised Abby didn’t have a comeback later in the show for him.
I was really disappointed in Abby’s girls also. They all came off as totally spoiled, egotictical brats. I wonder where Chloe and her mom were, they were very conspicuously absent. But it was really funny to see the faces on the moms after Maks’ comment. Priceless!
As for Amy, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her win the whole thing. She is an incredible dancer, despite being on prosthetics. It would be terrible if she won it on sympathy but even if that should happen (which I doubt), I think she’d be winning it on merit anyway. We are at that point now where I just can’t imagine who will go next because they are all so good. I’d love to see Maks win because he never has but I’d like to see Peta and James win too, she is such a fabulous dancer.
In some of the years past, any one of these dancers could have won. There is just so much talent this season.
