AND I’M EXCITED for personal reasons —- one of the contestants will be the Baltimore Ravens wide receiver/kick return specialist, JACOBY JONES, who they claim (or so I’ve read) is a good dancer …. and then there’s ballroom. LOL. Guess we’ll see, but I’m so glad it’s one of our guys representing the NFL this year.
February 25, 2013 at 7:48 pm #38119BonbonParticipantThat was really fast. I hope they don’t overdo a good thing.
February 25, 2013 at 8:58 pm #38120luckeyParticipantwhen they talk about whatever season they are celebrating, everyone needs to remember that they are on twice a year.
February 25, 2013 at 9:17 pm #38121PattiParticipantwatch Good Morning America tomorrow morning (Tuesday), where the entire cast will be revealed. ABC leaked Jacoby as a contestant, along with the first American Idol contestant ever, Kelly Pickler. Everyone else will be shown tomorrow on GMA, but I’m not sure if it will be announced who they’re pro dance partners will be at that time. Rumor has it that Maks will not be returning this season, nor will Chelsie Hightower.
February 26, 2013 at 2:59 pm #38126luckeyParticipantI’m only interested in three of them: Wynona and Tony Davilani (my favorite dancer), Kelly Pickler and Derek Hough, and Dorothy Hamill and Tristan (the Irishman). Several others I don’t know and a couple of them I’ve never been a fan of (Andy Dick and D.L. Hughley). I guess there’s enough diversity in the pop culture, sports, entertainment, singing areas to attract an audience. We’ll see how it pans out.
February 26, 2013 at 4:32 pm #38127MKParticipantI’m interested in seeing Lisa Vanderpump of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Normally I don’t care to see "reality" stars on this show but I really like Lisa. She is intelligent, classy, and owns several restaurants. I think she will be a nice addition to the show.
February 26, 2013 at 4:48 pm #38130PattiParticipantKarina. She’s one of my favorite female pros. I’m sad my favorite guy, Maks Chmerkovskiy, won’t be returning this year. I read somewhere he had a lot of dissension with the show and decided not to return this year. I don’t know if it was with the show as much as it might have been with the judges, though. Also sorry Chelsie’s not returning this year.
Maks’ brother, Val, is paired with the 16-year old Disney star, Zendaya Coleman. Hope Val can control his self a little better with this very young, very beautiful starlet than he did with Kelly Monoco and realizes she’s 16.
I like that one of the contestants is Aly Raisman, one of our gold medal Olympic champion gymnasts, and I love that she’s paired with Mark Ballas. The gymnasts tend to do well, and Mark is just a fantastic dancer.
Another favorite soap star of mine, Ingo Rademacher, who plays Jasper Jax on General Hospital, is a contender this year, buy I’m not crazy about his partner, Kym Johnson. Something about that girl’s eyes is just scary looking. Ingo is very tall, so I’m hoping she isn’t constantly trying to put her leg up on his shoulder too much. It might not look too good since she’ll have a long way to go.
I hope Kelly Pickler’s hair has grown out by now. She shaved her head to support a childhood friend who has cancer. Hope she can keep up with Derek Hough, who doesn’t seem to have patience with partners who have problems staying with him.
Dorothy Hamil will probably be expected to do well because of her ice skating/dancing ability, but she’s 56 now, so we’ll see. Why do they always give Tristan the older women. I would loved to have seen him paired with Aly or the Disney girl.
The others don’t interest me that much, but I’m excited to get started on March 18th.
Hope Len lightens up a little bit this year, and Bruno needs to check his sexual innuendos at the door this year, IMO.
February 26, 2013 at 6:57 pm #38134BonbonParticipantIt just seemed to come around much faster than it has in the past.
February 26, 2013 at 7:07 pm #38137BonbonParticipantOMG! I guess she’s supposed to be the Kirstey Alley replacement?
I sure would love to know how they pair the pros and stars. I see there are three new pros this year. Maks said he wasn’t coming back but I hoped he would change his mind. I wonder what he thinks he can do better than this show. His ego is way to big for him.
So who else is missing besides Maks and Chelsea?
February 26, 2013 at 7:08 pm #38133BonbonParticipantI can’t take her seriously since she was on Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader and said she thought Europe was a country and never heard of Hungary.
Why do you say she was the first AI contestant ever? She was far from the first. In fact, she sang one of Kelly Clarkson’s (first winner) songs.
February 26, 2013 at 9:48 pm #38148PattiParticipantto be on DWTS; not the first AI contestant. No one from American Idol has ever been on Dancing With The Stars, before or after Kellie Pickler.
February 26, 2013 at 10:09 pm #38152BonbonParticipantWait a minute, wasn’t um, the guy that Stoddard beat on? Why can’t I think of his name…with the unruly red hair. (Dang, I hate when that happens.) Or, no, maybe I’m thinking of Celebrity Apprentice. I think it was.
Anyway, I think they could have done much better than Kellie, she is SO dippy. Unless she turns out to be a very good dancer. Just please…don’t let her talk. Although she couldn’t be worse than Shawn Johnson who talked with her teeth clenched. Did you ever notice that the mother (Barbara Hershey?) on Once Upon a Time does the same thing? Eeeek, that drives me nuts.
Am I rambling???
February 27, 2013 at 5:07 pm #38164luckeyParticipantI can’t remember his name either! He was on Celebrity Apprentice.
February 27, 2013 at 5:24 pm #38165BonbonParticipantClay Aikins. Thank you.
February 27, 2013 at 8:52 pm #38168luckeyParticipantwe’ve just got too much information stored in our brains to remember everything!
