Yay! Can’t wait. Although, I swear, I have never heard of half of those people. I need some kind of explanation on how they qualify as “stars.”
One I’m looking forward to seeing is Robert Herjavek from The Shark Tank. I really like him and will be interested in seeing a little more of his personality. I didn’t notice any football players…hmmm…strange.
March 14, 2015 at 1:41 pm #46754caseyParticipantwill tune in to see Shark Robert. And as I followed the Bachelor this year – having lived in Iowa and with a close friend there – interested to see Chris. But you are right, who ARE a lot of these “stars”? I would think Lukin being the nimble athlete has the best odds starting out.
March 17, 2015 at 1:51 pm #46778caseyParticipantDoesn’t look like the talent will match up with last season. I thought the judges were overly kind in their comments. but they probably didn’t want to be too harsh the first day. Scores were right on though.
I don’t see La Belle lasting too long unless fans vote en masse. Patti was elegant but an uptempo dance will do her in. Suzanne Somers wasn’t as dynamic as I expected, but hey, she’s 68!
I knew gymnast Lukin would excell but I was impressed with the rocker guy and totally blown away by Rumor Willis. Look forward to seeing more of her.March 17, 2015 at 4:40 pm #46779PattiParticipantthat rocker kid impressed me, as did the gymnast (surprise, surprise, she got Derek), but Rumor Willis chewed them all up and spit them out. Loved seeing her whole famiy in the audience, even though they were in separate rows. She looks like she’s going to be hard to beat, plus she’s got a great partner in Val.
March 18, 2015 at 6:04 am #46784BonbonParticipantIt’s time for him to win. I like him every bit as much as Maks.
But the one I’m really pulling for is Robert Herjavek. I have always liked him on The Shark Tank and he seems like a genuinely nice person. Plus he’s not bad to look at. And how cool is it he’ll give that car to Kym if they win? Holy cow, what an incentive! I have read that they may be a little more involved than just dancing together.
March 18, 2015 at 1:27 pm #46785caseyParticipantDon’t know much about his personal life but doesn’t he have kids? Is he divorced? He’s a supreme animal lover like me and does seem like a very nice guy. I was surprised by his enthusiasm.
As for the pros I still believe Peta is the best overall athlete. She is so quick and sharp in her moves and can keep up with any male.March 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm #46788PattiParticipantbut I think Robert needs quite a bit of improvement IMO. He looked pretty stiff but who knows, these pros are amazing and really good at getting non-athletic, non-dancers to improve from week to week. I agree about Val. At first I thought he couldn’t compare to Maks, but he’s made me a fan and I always enjoy watching him now (unless he gets too touchy-feely—LOL!)
March 24, 2015 at 10:47 pm #46843caseyParticipantOverall, a better showing for the gang. I wouldn’t believe a 14 year old could pull off a believable tango, but Willow did it for me. Enjoyed Rumer again too. Patti LaBelle was okay, but how long did she actually dance? Like 15 seconds maybe? Just because she’s older the standard should not be lowered. I find too much time is being taken up in the posturings before the contestants start moving. Also, as much as I highly admire disabled vet Noah, he is so very limited in what he can do.
I don’t know why everyone was bummed about the first elimination of that Redfoo guy. Like me I think a lot of people were unfamiliar with him and just wrote him off as this long-haired goof.
Farmer Chris just cannot dance. He is stiff and appears to be lacking in rhythm and could be on the block again next week.March 25, 2015 at 8:39 am #46848BonbonParticipantI hate that they even put that disabled guy on the show in the first place. It is just a blatant appeal for sympathy. How can he possibly dance to the same standards as all the others. And as you say about Patti, the standard should not be lowered. Besides, after seeing his back story, all I see in him, putting aside his service to our country, is trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Shame on the DWTS producers for pandering to us like that. We know he will only stay on the show for as long as the public’s sympathy for him lasts and it shouldn’t be like that. He should be judged by his dancing just like everybody else.
And I didn’t think Redfoo was that bad. Chris was way worse and again, and he was much better than Patti who will only remain because of her fan base, not her dancing.
BTW, I LOVED Val’s portrayal of Bruce’s expression…Priceless!!! Yes, Rumer’s dancing was certainly a surprise. I’d be happy to see Val win this year. I think I have begun to like him even more than Maks.
March 25, 2015 at 1:28 pm #46850caseyParticipantlast season’s amputee (can’t recall her name?) was a huge factor in Noah’s inclusion. The leg only would be fine but also missing an arm makes dancing a real challenge. He makes me nervous, as those falls in rehearsal showed, and with live tv a potential disaster could happen.
As I said, I have nothing but admiration and gratitiude for his service and wanting a go at DWTS, but how do you judge his limitations against the others?March 31, 2015 at 4:53 am #46895BonbonParticipantI fell asleep last week and then forgot about it. Who was eliminated last week, please?
That doofus really deserved to go last night, just because of her attitude, although I gotta say, she is certainly one beautiful woman. But Len really put her in her place about everybody else being busy also. And Bruno saying she’d never win a Nobel Prize was priceless.
Boy, this season there is no shortage of candidates to get the ax. All three in the finals last night could have gone. And Patti LaBelle needs to go too because she can’t dance at all. She’s another one of those that will hang on only because of her fan base.
And, boy, once again Rumer just blew me out of the water. That girl is a natural dancer all the way around.
March 31, 2015 at 1:41 pm #46905caseyParticipantWhy did she join this if she wasn’t dedicated? She says she was busy with work, but wasn’t this also a gig she comitted to? If she put effort into it she might have stayed longer. Her lines were gorgeous, but she needed work in actual dancing. I felt bad for her partner.
Patti bugs me because her routines are limited to about 15 seconds of actual dance. The rest is posturing. Chris was better this week but I don’t see him lasting beyond another week or two at the most.
That rocker guy Riker is the most surprising to me. He is raw but a really good mover.March 31, 2015 at 2:16 pm #46907PattiParticipanthe didn’t deserve another really, really, really bad partner, yet Derek gets the cream of the crop every season, although I think she’ll have a hard time competing with Rumer Willis and Val …. who seem to be the ones to beat this season!
April 7, 2015 at 11:19 am #46961caseyParticipantWhat was up with that Bottom Three? Riker and teen Willow who’ve been consistently scoring high? Talk about populrity contest over performance!
Several couples should have been in their place. But fortunately the worst of them, Micheal Sam was voted off.
Once again Rumer was spectacular. At least Patti did a bit more dancing last night. Suzanne was the best she’s been. As for Robert, I feel like he does the same moves every dance with those sweeping arm swings which I’m getting tired of. I want to see some uptempo.
But what really bugs me is Noah. I have the supreme respect and admiration for his service, his accomplishments and high character. But what he did last night was a gymnastics routine. It was NOT dancing and this is a dancing show.April 7, 2015 at 12:53 pm #46963PattiParticipantthat Mark and Willow did last night. Honestly, I’m sort of glad this is Len’s last season as a judge. He has become too harsh and critical with his comments. It’s called Dancing With The Stars….not Ballroom Dancing With The Stars. LOL!
Rumer was once again marvelous, and I think she is very beautiful. It’s funny how some women see themselves as ‘ugly’ or ‘masculine’. This girl has classic features, IMO. I just think she shines on the dancefloor. Plus, I really would like to see Val beat Derek this season.
Michael Sam was the weakest link in the trio of stars getting voted off last night, and deserved to go. He’s still a terrific guy, though, and I have a great deal of respect for him.
