Loved Willow’s Alice in Wonderland. It was more like a Broadway production number and she must have dance three times longer than anyone else. Rumer of course good as usual. And I still get enjoyment from Riker.
Chris has to go. Just does nothing for me. As for Robert, I feared what would happen when he attempted something faster and it played out. Love his enthusiasm but his Mary Poppins was pretty awful.
Right now looks like a battle among Nastia, Rumer and Willow. Riker the dark horse.April 15, 2015 at 12:00 am #47025PattiParticipantI find him very entertaining, and very funny. He was delightful and I thought he did a terrific paso doble. I’m tired of the ice skaters with their gained advantage of being able to dance on ice, although her Frozen routine was good. I still think Rumer is the one to beat, but Willow, at 14 years of age, just keeps getting better and better.
April 15, 2015 at 10:18 pm #47038caseyParticipantUnless I missed something Liukin is a gymnast.
April 15, 2015 at 10:57 pm #47040PattiParticipantgot my professions mixed; but the same situation applies. Professional ice skaters and gymnasts give them an "edge", IMO. They seem to easily adapt to the dance moves as well as the ease of learning the difficulties of the dance steps others find much more difficult to do. They also have a good stage presence right off the bat because of their professions.
April 16, 2015 at 12:51 pm #47045caseyParticipantyou have the dance sequence during the floor exercise so that definitely gives you an edge.
But remember a lot of these contestants/winners had much dance experience in their backgrounds. Like Alfonso. Definitely gives them a leg up!April 16, 2015 at 2:42 pm #47048shadowParticipantSomeone made a comment right after the show began. It was about Val and Rumor. It was a remark that theywould win. How would they know if it hadn’t even started. am not impressed with her. I have no desire to watch them. She has a weird looking face & lips. There are others that are just as good and maybe better. than her. I have watched the show ever since it has been on and this will be the last time because I will not watch them. Val makes my skin crawl and he is creepy in my opinion.
April 21, 2015 at 1:14 pm #47093caseyParticipantThis has become more of a contest than I anticipated. Last night was the first time I was impressed with Chris. He seemed far more fluid and comfortable.
I’ve come to love Riker. He is ever so entertaining and with discipline and training I think could become a legit dancer. But his flamboyancy and raw around the edges style is what makes him a gem. When you think he and his partner only had a couple days to rehearse, the scores are all the more impressive. How on earth is this guy ever in the bottom??!April 21, 2015 at 1:30 pm #47095PattiParticipanthe is so talented, and so entertaining. He just makes me smile watching him perform. I still can’t get over his Pirates of the Carribean paso doble. I could almost believe he was Captain Jack Sparrow! Uh-oh…2 eliminations this week. I would like to see Chris hang on another week, too. He’s not going to win it, but he’s improving, along with Willow. This is the first time I was a little bit disappointed in Rumer and Val, mainly because of the "booty" dance. It just didn’t fit in with the "Spring Break" theme, IMO.
April 28, 2015 at 12:38 pm #47126caseyParticipantWillow gets canned over Robert and Chris? I do have to say her Ninja routine did not impress me but she has shown more talent than the above.
I loved the choreography for Nastia – must be tough for her to change partners when she had Derek. Rumor was outstanding. Enjoyed seeing dad Bruce on his rehearsal visit. And of course Riker just never disappoints.April 30, 2015 at 3:33 pm #47157PattiParticipantshe really did not deserve to be eliminated before either Chris or Robert.
May 5, 2015 at 1:10 pm #47177caseyParticipantReally enjoyed the dancing last night. Chris and Robert blew the trios, but otherwise everyone performed well. Rumer shined with her two classic dances – that rhumba was exceptional. One again Derek’s choreography was terrific on the Nastia dance. Riker exciting as usual; I definitely lock into him.
Noah I continue to be conflicted. To do what he does is mind-bogling; however the question is what kind of a dancer would he be if not disabled? That the dancing has to be significantly altered to accomodate his limitations is a problem for me. I mean how many times can you just rotate your hips or lift your partner? We see this every week and in a way it is unfair to the others who are actually dancing.
I see Chris, Robert and or Noah leaving tonight. But who knows who the voters will oust?May 12, 2015 at 4:23 pm #47226caseyParticipantWhat a slate of dancing last night. This season turned out to be far more
competitive than it began. Even Noah stretched himself. Though I still don’t think he deserves to be champ.
The judges tend to go overboard with emotion, but I was really taken with the dance Len gave to Nastia about looking back on his younger performing years and how age takes its toll. So bittersweet and so so well done by Nastia and Derek. Just loved the entire evening.May 13, 2015 at 8:44 am #47229BonbonParticipantThey just put him on there for the sympathy he garners and that just isn’t right. Yes, he’s a hero and an amazing man but he shouldn’t be trying to compete with the others when he has such limitations. And then they have him propose on air? How much more emotion that they pull out of the viewers? I really thought he should have been eliminated last night (5-12).
I’d be happy if either Riker or Rumer won because I think they have both done amazing jobs. However, after seeing Riker perform as a singer last night, he certainly has had dancing experience where Rumer started from absolutely scratch. And, I like Val and would certainly like to see him win. I can’t believe he has been on for eight seasons already but I think it’s time he takes home the mirror ball because I’m sure Maks probably gives him a lot of grief over having won when his little brother hasn’t.
So, I’m anxiously awaiting the finale and I agree, this has turned out to be one of the better seasons as far as talent goes. But if Noah wins, I will be extremely disappointed. We have already had two “handicapped” (I know they don’t like that term but I don’t know what else to call them) competitors win, however, they really did have the talent to beat the others and didn’t win on sympathy. We shall see…
May 13, 2015 at 12:45 pm #47233caseyParticipantwould go because Noah has the public’s admiration. It did not help that Nastia had that bratty episode right before the semis. You gotta watch that in these voter shows. Attitude counts.
BTW, that wasn’t Riker the contestant in that Disney performance. It was his lookalike brother Ross. Apparently Ross is the one who taught Riker the moves! There is talk of him joining DWTS next season.May 19, 2015 at 12:53 pm #47267caseyParticipantAfter another spectacular night of dancing I would not mind Riker taking the trophy but believe Rumer deserves to win. She’s had the best technique from start to finish. I’m wondering if maybe she and Riker could split the majority of votes leaving Noah to win?
Noah was great in the free last night and he aquitted himself well, but I would be disappointed if he got the mirror ball. -
