Last night is why I watch. Great dancing, mostly good music, loved the costumes, choreography and really enjoyed the whole show. The singers and orchestra on there are brilliant. They can play and sign everything and sound so much like the original. Kudos to them.
A comment on Shawn. I can’t understand a word that girl says and I saw why last night. She talks with her teeth clenched. At first I thought she was doing it on purpose but I don’t think so, it’s just the way she talks. She needs a speech therapist and to OPEN her mouth. If you haven’t seen it yet, notice when she first talks to Brooke.
But, speaking of Shawn, their first routine again brought tears to my eyes, although that song, In the Arms Of An Angel always does anyway. But, their trio dance should have gotten a perfect 30 and didn’t. It was one of the best I’ve ever seen on there outside the freestyle. They added Mark for their trio. Len said there wasn’t enough Samba in it. I thought it was grrrrreat!
On the other hand, Emmet did get 30 for his trio with Kim and he didn’t even do much dancing. All he did was hold the girls’ hands and spin them around.
Who will go? I think Kelly and Kirstie…hope so anyway. I’m worried for Gilles because I think he’s not as well liked by the judges as Emmet and Melissa. (Check out Pita’s costume bottom…it BARELY covers her pubic area…BARELY!!! and I don’t know what held it on, I don’t think just glue could have done the job). BTW, Emmet seems to have lost quite a bit of weight which I didn’t notice before. You can see it in his face and belly.
All-in-all, one of my favorite shows, yet, the more I watch, the more I think this show has been, shall we say manipulated, from comments they make while rehearsing, to their line-up performing, especially the judges comments, and right down to their scores. Sorry but it’s just becoming too transparent.
I think he thinks he’s the pro instead of the star. It’s as if he’s telling the pro what to do, and I don’t think they like that very much. He’s quite a bit more "bossy" this year compared to his last appearance, and it’s quite obvious he does not like criticism.
I hope Kelly stays, I really like her and her dancing. I can’t see why she’s criticized so much. People are judging her from her time on Dirty Soaps, and are always finding ways to put her down. BUT, she’s so petite and yet has such balance and rhythm. Her and Val are a bit over the top with their romantic innuendos, but I think it’s more Val than it is Kelly. In any case, I really liked them last night.
Kirstie is improving every week now, and the world seems to love her. Anyone noticing she’s lost quite a bit of weight, and appears to be keeping up with Maks much better than in the beginning, when I thought for sure she would go home every week, yet here she is and getting quite a lot of attention and praise for improvement.
Melissa is just the cream of the crop for me. Is there anything that girl can’t do? And Tony was the perfect partner for her, and that’s just fine with me if they win it. Tony is just the sweetest guy, and he’s been cut short for years now and deserves to win, and I think he can do it with Melissa.
Derek and Shawn are marvelous, and she’s come a long long way in her performances. Seems she gets better every week, but she’s so tiny and Derek is so tall, I think sometimes their effort is overlooked by the judges.
It would not bother me one bit if Emmett and Cheryl were eliminated tonight, but I don’t know who I would want to go home as my second choice for elimination. Maybe Kirstie and Maks, but it would not surprise me if they were saved. In any case, I would rather see Kirstie go than Kelly.
you have that opinion of Gilles. I don’t see that at all. He appears to be very humble to me.
As for Kelly, Dirty Soaps is the only thing I have to base my opinion of her on (besides DWTS). She just never smiles and seems to be so full of herself.
