I thought their scenes yesterday were very funny. Then I realized, E.J. really had NO intentions of proposing, and it made me laugh out loud at how Sami was so sure that was his intention, and then found herself totally embarrassed that it really was an ad campaign. Great job in easing this couple back into a storyline I am pleased to watch, writers. I know, I know, I can feel the slings and arrows coming my way, but honestly I love the way they are writing them now. It’s not at all what we are used to seeing from these two, so I’m finding it very entertaining, and enjoying it while it lasts.
I’ve been pro Sami n EJ for a while. He truly does love her for who and what she is. Rafe wanted her to be someone else. There’s one thing to be better b/c of someone but not b/c that someone wants you to be better. EJ & SAMI FOREVER!!!
Sami and EJ have never had a relationship like they are having now except for a couple of days way back when right before Lucas got out of prison and caught them together. And, I also thought wearing all the rings was a nice comedic touch.
but you’ve been saying this since day one. I like to see change in a character from time to time. Everyone, I don’t care who you are or where you came from, has a connection with someone. I have always believed that the one and only person for E.J. was Sami. But I can understand your and others hatred for the character. Been there, done that myself. I just think since this is the road traveled by soaps, it’s time for a change, and I personally believe the couple has fantastic chemistry and that if they are both willing to change for one another, that it’s time to change them into someone others simply cannot, or will not, believe. Like I said before, theirs is not the only rapist storyline on the show and people seem to have adjusted to others, and even accepted the rapist back into their lives, and before long back into the fans lives. Kayla Johnson and Jack Devereaux come to mind here for me here. I know, though …. people can’t help who they like and who they don’t. Also, maybe the writers will revert back to the "old" E.J. once Stefano returns. Personally, I hope they don’t.

Patti, it is not JUST the rape. Although it was the first in many incidents that influenced my feelings about EJ. There was the shooting at the pier, locking Lucas in the freezer to die, throwing Sydney out in the street when he thought she wasn’t his (not even mentioning Nicole also being thrown out), kidnapping Sydney, putting blooding clothes in the water so Sami thought Sydney was dead, replacing Rafe with Faux-Rafe. All these incidents show a pattern of a dangerous person. It is unrealistic for this type of person to suddenly change and become a loving, gentle man!!
Now EJ is being written as milk toast, not the dominant person he once was. He is not the true EJ,but a shadow of himself. I just cannot see it continuing. If Sami and EJ do stay together, how long can they be happy? Soaps don’t let couples stay happy!!
EJ is always influenced by his father, and I don’t think that Stefano will be happy by this softer, gentlier EJ. I always thought the Nicole was the perfect match of him because she knew what he was, accepted him as he was, and was a willing partner to him. Sami keeps saying he has changed, that is not accepting him as he is!!
Amen! Ej is a sleeze and always will be. But Sami deserves him so I hope they stay together and make each other miserable.
