Just read that EJ is leaving…today was his last taping day!! What is going on there…it feels like its the end of Days…so many people leaving.
and he dropped all sorts of hints in his recent Michael Fairman interview, starting with the fact that he was disappointed in the EJabby s/l but I don’t think that’s why he left. James’ contract expired at the end of April, so it kind of says “failed negotiations” to me. So that means that November sweeps will all be bidding farewell to Ali Sweeney, James Scott and Eileen Davidson, who already confirmed that she is only here for a 3 or 4 month arc, and she does not air until July, so it all fits. Wish all of them the best of luck, but I sure will miss them …. ALL of them!!!
In my opinion it was just a matter of time. I don’t thik it was due to failed negotiations. I think the writing was on the wall as soon as Alison announced she was leaving. What’s EJ without his "Samantha"?

I know Ali claims she wants to spend time with her family. So what is James planning? Just cause you are a soap star doesn’t mean you can "make it" in Primetime/movies. Most don’t– just ask Kristen Alfanso, Deidre Hall, and Josh aoubt leaving for the big time. What ever happened to Jay and Nadia?? Although some have succeeded most don’t
As for DOOL, it will continue. So will Lucas be going as well?
and also says he has “other projects” he wants to work on. Guess we never really know the truth behind these sudden disclosures, but I know I’m really excited now to watch these exit scenes.
I have to think Joe M. will be tailing off too, partially due to age, but he will have all his kids gone.
Who on board now will Days step up to primo roles?First Sami, now EJ. This is really going to take an enormous chunk out of my Days enjoyment. Will I even want to continue watching? Who knows.
For some time now that he wanted to pursue other things. I think that Ali leaving was the final nail in the coffin. You can see how cool they are with each other with all the behind the scenes stuff.
I wish him well – I’ve loved E.J. from his first day in Salem. And as you all know I love love love him with Sami. This is a chance to get them to leave Salem TOGETHER as a couple and perhaps give Sami her "happily ever after." If not, this a chance to have Sami go out in a BLAZE OF GLORY by blowing up the entire DiMera mansion and getting away with it. Sami arrived to Salem a hell raiser so she can certainly leave as one.
I had heard nothing about this until yesterday, but I thought this was something that was happening way down the road, I didn’t realized he had taped his last show already. Too bad Stefano isn’t leaving too. I could personally do without Dimeras.
but I’m torn between that and seeing Sami go out as a scorned hellion reeking havoc on everything and everyone in her path, which could also be a blast. Either way, I’m convinced they will be leaving the show together; whether one will be alive and the other NOT is still up in the air in my mind. LOL! All I know is I will miss them terribly, because, like you, they are my favorite Salem couple of all time, and it breaks my heart to be losing both of them.
Are you far from NYC?!? We can have a drink after that final episode and drown our sorrows together LOL
