Could she be any more obvious about barging in for life in the mansion? Giving Sis a photo of them in bygone days – as an engagement gift?
I don’t blame Nicole for escorting her to the door. I say she’s trouble.
And so far, I don’t care for her.February 1, 2011 at 11:54 pm #20548BonbonParticipantShe acts very nervous. Is that the actor’s reaction to the part or is that the way she’s playing Taylor? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. For now, I’m not very excited about her as an addition to the cast.
On the other hand, NuRafe is pretty funny. I’m getting a kick out of the way he’s playing the part.
February 2, 2011 at 12:02 am #2055053tdogsParticipantsigh…better than the news any way. Especially, when you say Rafe1.2 is interesting to watch.
February 2, 2011 at 12:14 am #20552PattiParticipantwhen she was on GH either. Beautiful girl; poor acting. So far not much has changed with NL from what I saw today. Maybe she’s just nervous, being away from soaps for a while now, but today she sounded and acted like a schoolgirl to me, not a young lady with a degree in occupational therapy, but I’ll hold further judgment for a few more days. All she did for me today was take up a lot of time in her and Nicole’s scenes, which would have been better served with the Rafe2 scenes. He was funny. It was like he was so proud of himself every time he got an answer right that E.J. or Stefano asked him. I was almost waiting for them to pat him on the head and throw him a treat.
February 2, 2011 at 12:17 am #20554JohnnyboyParticipantHey give the kid a break here. You are so quick to judge especially when a new female character arrives. I remember you hated Melanie so much and now she has turned into a first-class character. Many others you shot down, and they too came into their own big time.
Could be the female bias here as women do not seem to like new women coming on, but get all googly eyed over every nice male hearthrob that emerges on the show.
Come on ladies, cut Taylor some slack. She is going to be a sympathetic character and she is not that bad. Don’t know what acting school many viewers here went to, but some criticisms are like experienced film reviewers raking over acting.
February 2, 2011 at 11:35 am #20567DeeLanParticipantAfter seeing the first scene with Nicole and Taylor at the door with the cop I FF through every other scene she was in. Can’t say much about her acting based on the little I saw but she was NOT the strong Taylor I remember from the past and this one does nothing for me. Reminds me of when they brought back Mimi’s parents. When they were living in the box she was a good mother who cared for her kids. Mimi’s dad, even though we never saw him, was hard working and had just lost his job. He was out trying to find work. When Bonny came on they had her as a cheap flirt who was always out to get a man and pull a con on someone. When they talked about Mimi’s dad he was made out to be an alcoholic, no good, dead beat dad who never supported his family.
February 2, 2011 at 2:24 pm #20570caseyParticipantbecause she was truly an unlikeable character. And some of her mannerisms/habits were really tough to digest. But I think many who initially couldn’t stand her warmed up because she matured into a better person.
I did say this was my first impression of Taylor and I’ll be more than happy to announce a change of mind as we see more of her. I do concede it can take awhile for an actor to get into the role and understand the character. But I just found it very tedious watching her yesterday.February 2, 2011 at 3:55 pm #20576SWParticipanthardworking, caring woman who was very grateful to get the habitat for humanity house but also embarrassed that she needed one. Then they decided to make Bonnie Mimi’s mother which made no sense! She was the total opposite of the woman the long time viewers were introduced to. I got the feeling it was just a device to get Judy Evans to stay on the show. Bonnie turned into a thief, con artist, etc. And, worst part was she ruined Mickey!
February 2, 2011 at 4:09 pm #20578DeeLanParticipantI’m basing my opinion of Taylor on her past. They get a new actor/actress and change the character so of course the first thing you notice is "new actor/actress" when in fact it’s the writing of that character. Everyone would be in an uproar if they brought back Marlena or John with a new actor and actress, well the same holds true of old characters. Just because they haven’t been seen for a while doesn’t mean we don’t remember them and notice when something just isn’t right with the character.
They did that with Stephanie, Mike (when played by Michael T. Weiss was goofy, fun and a non conformist. when Roark Critchlow took over he was good looking but more serious and professional. nothing like the old Mike I was use to and it took a while to warm up to him), Jack (when played by Mark Valley he wasn’t as goofy as the Jack we all know), Billie (Lisa Rinna as the original Billie to me was the best and they forgot her past in the numerous times they’ve brought her back) and I could go on and on. The fact is, they either change actors/actresses when they want to take a character in a different direction and hope the viewers will forget all about the character’s past OR the writers re-invent the character to match the new actor/actress. Either way it’s a disservice to the loyal viewers who’ve watched the show since the beginning and have brought these characters into their homes and made them part of their families.
When they introduce NEW characters I could care less who plays them as I have no history with that character and no time invested in them. I can honestly say though Lee and the warden drive me nuts. The facial expressions and vocal inflections of the warden are like nails on a chalkboard but that might not be the actress, it might be the way TPTB want her to be portrayed. Lee to me adds nothing to the show.
February 2, 2011 at 4:59 pm #20581BonoSugaRayParticipantMy first impression of Taylor: she rocks! And I know just the guy the writers need to pair her up with!
February 2, 2011 at 5:51 pm #2058353tdogsParticipantwe never forget, (although, my menory gets a bit hazy at times, LOL), and the writers do not give us long time fans credit for remembering and knowing the story continuity better than they do.
Yes, after a long period of time, like Mel, (whom I disliked when she first appeared), she has grown on me, (although, I do wish she’d mature a bit instead of reverting to the little-girl-lost act she does frequently), some of the characters become interesting, unfortunately, some never do and are doomed to my FF’d button.
I FF’d through most of Lee and Warden Jane’s scenes, they could never grow on me, even if they had as many scenes as Sami did, just not believable – they were both charactertures of a prisioner and warden in a jail, jokes both.
February 4, 2011 at 11:07 pm #20656GrockieParticipantHe has a recurring role on Blue Bloods.
February 4, 2011 at 11:43 pm #20657BonbonParticipantI haven’t noticed him. What part does he play? How can I miss good ol’ Mike?
February 5, 2011 at 12:43 am #20661NoraParticipantI LOVE HIM! i love him as Mike and then a few years ago he had a great show called The Pretender. he was kidnapped as a child and programmed and kept from his mother until he ran away as an adult. he’s been running from them since and saving different kinds of people on his journey to find his mother. It was a good show.
February 5, 2011 at 6:58 am #20668DeeLanParticipantHe plays Detectve Sonny Malveski the brother of the late Joe Reagan’s old partner.
