A friend of mine just sent this to me via Email and I thought this really would be a simple way to pass the Christmas spirit on to our well deserving heros just to let them know we are thinking of them and wishing them a merry Christmas and speedy recovery. I know how kind and giving you folks at Salem Place are and this is just all for the price of a card and a postage stamp.
Christmas Cards
When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to
this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of
how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so
much would get. A Great Idea!!!
When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please
include the following:
A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue,NW
Washington , D.C. 20307-5001

November 30, 2010 at 12:36 pm #18572BonbonParticipantdo this every year and also at Valentine’s Day. It would be nice for everybody to keep the address and do it throughout the year. Even "Thinking of You" cards are appreciated.
November 30, 2010 at 6:52 pm #1859153tdogsParticipantall times during the year! Thanks for the inspiration and idea!
December 1, 2010 at 4:13 pm #18638GoodyParticipantDON’T SEND CARDS WITH GLITTER ON THEM!! When my daughter’s girl scout troop sent cards to the Memphis VA hospital, they were asked to be sure that none of the cards had Glitter–it can shed onto the patients and their beds or clothing. It can even get into wounds.
I had forgotten about that stipulation until my grand daughter reminded me. Remember — NO GLITTER.

God Bless the Troops!
December 7, 2010 at 6:21 pm #1877253tdogsParticipantGOD Bless our Troops and their families. They are all in my prayers every day!
February 2, 2011 at 11:47 pm #2059453tdogsParticipantDay cards (come in a pack), this would be a nice tribute to our troops as well. You can send to the same address listed in this post as the Christmas cards. Remember, they lay their lives on the line 365 days a year for our freedom, not just at Christmas, so if you can send them another card at Valentines Day too! Thanks for reading my dear friends!

December 22, 2011 at 6:22 pm #29842May 4, 2012 at 10:49 am #32775BonbonParticipantIt’s been here for a year and a half now. I wonder if Jenn has totally deserted this site.
June 2, 2012 at 8:13 pm #3347953tdogsParticipantthose in the wars and serving away from home currently and for all the POW’s that are not and never forgotten. But then that’s just my take on a little thank you to them. It may give incentive for folks that are new to the site they would see the address and perhaps send a card, letter, well-wish to send to those wounded warriors who gave so much for our freedom…they will be in pain every day for the rest of their lives with some of the injuries they have recieved.
However, as I mentioned above that’s just my take on it. If a lot of folks from the SP site write to Jenn and tell her that they feel the same way that you feel Bonbon about removing it from the top of the list, then I am sure that Jenn would remove it. Until then, God Bless Our Troops and thank you all for your service!
PS. Jenn hasn’t desterted the site, I believe she just posted not too long ago.
