I was laughing my head off at the ridiculous scenario. Those two buffoons could not be taken seriously and the action scenes dredged up the “zowie!” and “whamo!” Batman tv series. I doubt that was what Days intended.
December 10, 2011 at 11:26 pm #29525SWParticipantI thought it could have been interesting if they had gone for some uber criminal behind the whole ring, someone who would be wiling to take on the Dimeras, Kiriakis’, Bradys, and Hernandez families. Oh well!
December 11, 2011 at 12:08 am #2952653tdogsParticipantit did! Thank you Salemites for joining in for a quick ending to an awful story.
December 11, 2011 at 12:18 am #29528devorrahParticipantSorry you thought it was funny. I thought it was terrific-in fact the very best episode with action I have seen in years. If you are invested in the characters, then you feel their pain and you want them to be rescued. It was good vs. evil in every sense. And of course the ending where everyone was smiling and hugging along with the emotional music and just no words. I admit it got some tears from me. I think Days of our Lives has improved so much since the reboot. I know Peter and Kristian are very happy because I follow their tweets. I will be sticking with this show til the end.
December 11, 2011 at 12:40 am #29529PattiParticipantDumb, except for Austin giving curly a good pounding. That I liked. But, please, GMAB with Abbey’s infatuation with Austin, and someone’s determination to push Rafe and Carrie together. Hate that!!!!
December 11, 2011 at 12:45 am #29530powerpaw2ParticipantIt was interesting to see how this brief SL is being used as a catalyst (for lack of a better word) for the Melanie and Chad pairing, as well as Abigail having an even bigged crush on Austin (which I think it dumb). Also, I would have though Austin would have used more of his boxing skills.
December 11, 2011 at 12:45 am #29532powerpaw2ParticipantDitto what Patti said.
December 11, 2011 at 1:19 am #29533DeeLanParticipantIs it possible this story isn’t over? I thought there were bigger bosses behind the whole thing so if they’re still out there they may come after the DiMera’s and Kiriakas’s.
December 11, 2011 at 2:19 am #29534macrrParticipantActually, a Rafe/Carrie pairing would be SWEET! I cannot think of a better comeuppance to loser, cheater, whiner, self-absorbed, hypocrite Sammi.
The only bad part, IMO, is that it would break up Carrie/Austin. It would be great for Sammi to suffer like she has made others suffer. I cannot stand that character.
December 11, 2011 at 4:22 am #29535caseyParticipantwhich was nice to see Days carrying out their commitment to family. But for me this SL was so non-involving and actually boring, and then to abruptly end it in a single episode by having characters believe they were in such danger as to be killed, when I as a viewer didn’t buy it, was a letdown. I just didn’t find the setup to be susbstantial enough.
December 11, 2011 at 3:40 pm #29539luckeyParticipantas anything more than a close working relationship. What I’d like to see is Sami think that something is going on and have it drive her nuts. I’m tired of all of this switching of couples all the time.
December 11, 2011 at 4:50 pm #2954053tdogsParticipantof going down that road with our show. I could see your senerio Luckey, Sami could turn green with envy over actually nothing going on between Rafe and Carrie, seeing her own sin, time for her to stop throwing stones at glass houses. I’d love for the writers to have Sami unravel at the seems at the thoughts of Rafe and Carrie…might teach her a lesson.
December 11, 2011 at 5:30 pm #29541Suzy-QParticipantI thought it was a good episode, too. I admit, the 2 "bad guys" were pretty unbelievable, but I liked the rest of it. Especially at the end when everyone was reunited and hugging each other. It was a good to see them wrap it up quickly since not many people really liked the storyline anyway. I was kind of hoping there would turn out to be some "big evil" behind it that would make the DiMera’s and Kiriakis’ look like small potatoes. Maybe that will still happen. I’d like to see Stefano and Victor team up to fight against some other evil family in order to protect their own families. THAT would be an interesting story.
But I have to say that the best part of Thursday and Friday’s episodes was NO SAMI!!!!! I was so glad to have a break from her and her irritating freak-outs. I wish Madison would send her on 2-month long business trip overseas so we didn’t have to look at her or listen to her for awhile. Every time I reflect on an episode that I really enjoyed, I realize it was due, in part, to Sami not being in that episode. Go figure…..
December 11, 2011 at 6:18 pm #29544DeeLanParticipantI llike that it brought so many characters together for one sincle story rather than 10 separate stories going on at once that aren’t related in any way.
December 11, 2011 at 7:03 pm #29545BonbonParticipantthere will be more to this story. Certainly those two bumbling goofs were not of the caliber to be someone who could convince anyone to throw a game and head up such an extensive gambling operation. They seemed to me to be just a couple of two-bit flunkies.
