I think I was in tears the whole show today. AS did a great job. I liked that they kept the cast small in EJs scenes today. My only comment is that Sami never said "who did this?" If his death is faked, could she know already? She sure didn’t act like she knew, especially in the final scene.
October 11, 2014 at 12:04 am #45528JohnnyboyParticipantI found it interesting the children were doing Ring Around The Rosey and when they said “ashes to ashes we all fall down,” it cut back to the Morgue. That was a clever plotting and yes it was emotional. Including Stefano who moments before was basically disowning him and tell EJ how useless he was. He was reduced to tears as well.
I know no one ever dies in soap operas so unless this is an EJ clone he looked pretty dead on that table…October 11, 2014 at 12:35 am #45529powerpaw2ParticipantKudos to Ali and James even though he didn’t have much dialogue as he lay dying. I’m going to lose it when the kids find out.
October 11, 2014 at 1:13 am #45530rfsextonParticipantOne of TPTB Corday or however you spell it said no more fake deaths.
Ejerk is not only merely dead, it is really most sincerely dead.October 11, 2014 at 12:28 pm #45531caseyParticipanta few times, but wouldn’t the ambulance and hospital people have to be in on it? But if EJ really is dead, how is this the finale Ali said viewers would be satisfied with? (though I know many are glad to see EJ go).
Unless when it’s time to Sami todepart she sees a vision of EJ saying they’ll meet again?October 11, 2014 at 1:13 pm #45532PattiParticipantbut I still cannot/do not believe this is a real death. It seems I read somewhere that JS taped scenes which may or may not have been seen; however, if this is real, they sure did a good job with it. I absolutely thought AS was wonderful the way she was so deeply into denial, all the way up to her last scene when she went into the morgue and E.J. was on that morgue table (gave me chills to the bone), then finally admitting she couldn’t hear his heart beat. I, too, wondered why she wouldn’t ask him “who did this to you.” Actually, I was surprised to hear Clyde ask Miguel “why did you do that” which makes me think all the more that he (Miguel) was in on it with E.J., or perhaps Stefano, in some way. I don’t know, I just found the absence of anyone (doctors, nurses, etc.) checking him at the hospital; the rushed and uncaring nature of the EMT’s; just all very eerie and unexplainable; but then there was the blood, which really threw me, so I’m still hoping it will somehow be faked and we will see late scenes taped by JS when Alison exits the show. Fingers crossed, anyway.
October 11, 2014 at 1:19 pm #45533PattiParticipantand the “ashes ashes we all fall down” while showing E.J. on the morgue table. That was terrific acting, directing and visual as well; then we had Will wiping up the spilled (red) juice from the counter blending back to Sami with E.J.’s blood on her clothes. Fabulous effects.
October 11, 2014 at 2:30 pm #45535justwonderingParticipantCorday also said no more child death’s after Hope’s shild died in the accident. Then baby Grace died! So Corday’s word doesn’t hold much water.
I am not sure if he is dead or if it is a fake. Seemed real, but it has happened before- like Jack several times.
October 11, 2014 at 2:40 pm #45536justwonderingParticipantThe EMT’s didn’t even attempt to determine digns of life. Even if EMT’s believed that someone is gone, the body usually goes into the ER where a doctor examines the patient, and it is the doctor that pronounces the patient.
Also just a little something that annoyed me. Sami was going to a party, so I would think she would haave make up on; However, in the hospital scenes there was no make up. Even if she was crying, she wouldn’t have ruined all her makeup.
Allie did do a wonderful job of reacting to the whole situation.
Also the fact that EJ’s henchman was the one who shot him makes me wonder if it was real.
Guess we will have to wait and see.
October 11, 2014 at 5:35 pm #45537maxineParticipantEnjoyed Fridays show , the writers did a great job, and Sami and EJ did great also, I LOVED the last scene, she made me hurt for her.. Great !!!! I hope whomever wrote and directed that episode continues it was good, we have some very good actors, all they need is good SL, dialogs and directing, this show could come back to life in a very big way.
October 11, 2014 at 7:42 pm #45538shadowParticipantI am overjoyed that E.J. is dead. BUT!!! It feels like science fiction, just like Stefano has always been orchestrating. Stefano can boo hoo all he wants because who knows who is and who isn’t for real.
These storylines are so old over and over.
If Sami wasn’t so spastic, she wouldn’t have been close to where E.J. was carrying on one of his schemes and she(Sami) would have seen exactly what E.J. was up to. She wil never own up to him being a changed man. She can’t see beyond her nose.
October 11, 2014 at 10:42 pm #45541caseyParticipantto what Ali said about viewers being satisfied with their exits. I just don’t see that happening IF EJ is truly gone.
And the way EJ did a pause before he left the house, almost like ‘here I go’ – I can’t see that as nothing.
Plus how would Sami leave if EJ is dead? Leave town with the kids in just a few weeks? That would not be much of an ending.October 12, 2014 at 6:10 am #45542BonbonParticipantthat was so commendable. Yes, the actors had to deliver it but they had to deliver as directed so I think the kudos go to the director on this one. (But well-deserved applause to the writers and actors also.) Sami’s continued display of denial while still letting a little reality occasionally seep in was so well done.
But, I’m not going to analyze this one to death. I’m just going to go with what the writers intended and let it go at that. So far I have been well satisfied with this “closure.”
October 12, 2014 at 11:33 am #45543PattiParticipantsomething like witness protection to keep herself safe from Stefano and/or his goons, because I’m sure he will blame her for everything, including her and Kate’s betrayal, along with E.J.’s death. If she’s threatened or thinks her children might be kidnapped….again…. her exit may have her agreeing to leave Salem and take her kids with her. I could very well see it happening that way. That’s assuming, of course, that E.J. is really dead. If not, then maybe the assassination was faked and that was E.J.’s and Marco’s plan all along. Don’t know how they could switch the body out though. Anyway, if I’m right, that would be a pretty good exit for Sami and for her kids. Lucas and Sami have some scenes coming up soon. I think if E.J. is alive and that there are others in on it, but it’s being kept from Sami and the children for now.
October 12, 2014 at 11:37 am #45544PattiParticipantwas that there would be no back from the dead storylines, such as Nick’s or Jack’s, but not necessarily “faked” deaths. They have to keep people guessing for one reason or another. A faked death and then a return is much easier to swallow than someone actually dead, having his organs donated, and then rejoining his family back up in Salem after a very long walk-about. LOL!
