I’m sorry, I’m FAR from homophobic but I am very uncomfortable with these scenes between Will and Sonny. I don’t why it bothers me. I’ve asked myself if it would be better if the actors were gay IRL but I don’t think so. I just don’t like watching them making out. (I know that’s an old-fashioned term but it just fits so well.)
I don’t know why they are shoving this down our throats (because it’s a very obviously controversial subject) but can only imagine it’s because they are trying for the gay viewership. Which itself is dumb because soaps have always been favorites of the all the gay guys I know. Ideas? Thoughts?
November 14, 2012 at 3:27 pm #36426shadowParticipantThat should be going on behind closed doors. The thought of the whole thing makes me nauseous.

November 14, 2012 at 8:56 pm #36438luckeyParticipantI also have gay friends and acquaintances and feel that how they live their life is between them and their God…not me. But, I just don’t feel comfortable watching Sonny and Will share physical romance. I don’t consider it homophobic at all, just a personal preference. For me, it’s like watching the news and seeing anything that is disturbing to me…I’ll look away or change the channel.
November 15, 2012 at 12:02 am #36444justwonderingParticipantActually, they show alot more with the heterosexuals on the show. I would prefer if they "fade to black" on all the overly sexual scene in the bedroom. I can imagine all I want thank yhou, do not need show and tell!. I thought that many of Sami’s "love"( and I say that loosely) scene with EJ were obscene (especailly after johnny’s "death".
But my biggest complaint is all the PDOs between Sonny and Will. They are ALWAYS touching each other’s check or holding hands, etc. I really don’t see the need for that.
November 15, 2012 at 2:47 pm #36461mommytutuParticipantBut I also notched I ff through Gabi and Nick. I’m no a prude and not homophobic, I just don’t like watching other people make out. I almost never watch love scenes.
November 15, 2012 at 3:36 pm #36462bluebonnetParticipantI never could stand to watch (still can’t) Marlena and John’s love scenes either!
November 15, 2012 at 3:42 pm #36465BonbonParticipantAnd I really don’t know why, they never used to bother me. Are they doing something differently now than they used to do? I don’t know. Or maybe it’s just that I’m getting old and crotchety.

Loved your choice of the word ‘crotchety’, bonbon, when refering to the love scenes! You probably didn’t even realize but my mind works in mysterious ways! LOL!!!
November 15, 2012 at 6:39 pm #36470MoGirlParticipantI don’t like the love scense between any one when they are so graphic. I have gay relatives also but they don’t paw each other in front of anyone and neither do other couples. Really doesn’t matter who they are on the show they do some rather heavy stuff in public. Maybe it is where I live in the midwest and folks just don’t act like that in public. I FF thru those scenes. Don’t know what they are trying to prove and I really don’t know how the actors do the scenes anyway.
November 15, 2012 at 9:06 pm #36471maryanneParticipantI don’t even like to watch the men and women in bed together, so why in the world would I like to watch 2 men or 2 women………………some things are better left to the imagination.
November 16, 2012 at 1:47 am #36474luckeyParticipantswallowing Marlena’s face when he kisses her!
November 16, 2012 at 3:35 am #36475majencoParticipantI find John’s face hugger technique much harder to watch than Sonny and Will.
November 16, 2012 at 4:35 am #36476powerpaw2ParticipantI don’t like watching it either. Sex is not a spectator sport, and I sure don’t agree with it being acted out so graphically on daytime TV when kids could be watching. It adds nothing but shock value.
From what I’ve seen of the sitcoms/dramadies that NBC is showing this season, they have a gay agenda. Not surprising though as they are definitely the most liberal of the major networks.
November 16, 2012 at 9:52 am #36479BonbonParticipanton Chicago Fire and, last night on Person of Interest, the story centered around two married lesbians. We do seem to be seeing more and more. I wonder if it has anything to do with the push to make same-sex marriages legal…and accepted.
