That scene yesterday with Abby pouring her heart out while constantly glaring daggers at Austin and Carrie commiserating with her and forcing Austin to agree was so horrible I could hardly watch. I can’t begin to list everything that was wrong with it because this post would be way too long.
I mean, can you imagine a conversation in real life like that? How much in love with this guy did they think she was? After all, she just broke up with Chad so this so-called affair couldn’t have been going on for long. And to blatantly lie like that while looking right in the face was utterly ridiculous.
There was something wrong with every player in the scene. Carrie was being super nosy and annoying. Jack was telling them too much about Abby’s private business. Abby was being so overly obvious that I can’t believe Carrie didn’t suspect something. And, to top it all off, that stupid jacket that Austin always wears zipped up to his chin made him look all the more the fool!
but I have found him entirely immature and irresponsible and ultimately a buffoon. He never should have incorporated a coed into his life and his lack of bounderies was inexusable. This was, yet again a case of plot driving character. The writers seemed determined to play on the Sami/Carrie issue but chose the most obviously ridiculous route, probably just to get to the catfight.
