for those who follow this show but missed last night’s season 2 opener of Grimm, try and find it, either on TV or on-line. It was fantastic and worth the watch. Det. Nick Burkhardt (Dave Giuntoli (who I think is adorable)) definitely has an extra amount drama on his plate this season. Not only is Nick still reeling from the surprise return of his 18-year presumed-dead mother Kelly (played by the super-talented Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), but he’s also racing against the clock to awaken Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) from her cat scratch-induced coma. Part 2 of the action packed opener continues next Monday night. Great, great opener!
August 14, 2012 at 10:59 pm #34953BonbonParticipantis why Nick can "see" all the monsters but he doesn’t know about the captain.
And I didn’t think that was really his mother. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me to find out yet that she’s not. However, she WAS familiar with everything in the trailer. She sure did look sinister at times.
Nice to see Chad’s "mother" (the judge) again. I’d forgotten she was on there.
Having to take the coins back to their origin to destroy them is too much like Lord of the Rings.
August 15, 2012 at 1:38 am #34958PattiParticipantI don’t recall. I know he is part of the pact that controls these monsters, but I can’t remember ever seeing him turn into one. I can see Kelly (Nick’s mom) trying to protect Nick from harm for being a Grimm, but to know she let him believe that she was dead for all these years was definitely cruel. I do believe, though, that she is his mother. You could be right, but I’m betting she is. Just crazy to keep her son in the dark all this time. I just love the way the show flowed this week. It seemed to have much more substance to it than last year, and I’m looking forward to part 2 of this opener much more than any from last season. For a while there, the stories from last season started to get a little boring.
August 15, 2012 at 3:04 am #34960DeeLanParticipantI dont’ think the captain is a monster or whatever the term for all those creatures are but I do think he’s working with, for or is part of the royal family that wants the coins. The way he talked to that witch (Chad’s mom) it sounded like he knew about Nick all along, even before Nick knew he was Grimm and wants to keep him under his watchful eye and is sort of manipulating him.

August 17, 2012 at 3:36 pm #35015TopazParticipantI want Monroe.
August 17, 2012 at 6:49 pm #35019annieoParticipantThere’s a picture of the Grimm cast at Comic Con 2012 on the NBC website. The actress that plays Rosalee is very pregnant. I read that her husband is an orthopaedic surgeon and their second child is due in September. I’ll have to watch and see how they hide her pregnancy. I really like her with Monroe. I think I like them as a couple more than the Nick and Juliette.
August 17, 2012 at 9:35 pm #35022DeeLanParticipantShe’ll probably be behind the counter of her shop a lot.
August 18, 2012 at 9:45 am #35036BonbonParticipantbut I must have missed how Monroe met Rosalee (or else I’ve just forgotten which is entirely possible). Can someone tell me?
Yes, Monroe is definitely my favorite character. Whoever writes his lines should come to work for Days. He has some real zingers and he delivers them so well.
August 18, 2012 at 3:27 pm #35047DeeLanParticipantDo you remember the episode where human organs were being stolen and sold. In investigating the case Nick went to the shop where the organs were sold in a back room. In a later episode the owner of that shop got killed and Rosalee is his sister and she came to close everything up but instead decided to stay. She’s helped Nick on several cases.
Since the first or second episode we’ve been waiting for Nick to break things off with Juliette to protect here. I remember in the first episode his aunt made a reference to having to give things up to protect them. A few times I thought Juliette would end things with Nick due to the secrecy and dangers she’s been placed in. After the last episode when she was dreaming and Nick vanished before her eyes she’ll have no recollection of him when she wakes up. I think to protect her Nick is going to let her go and not try to remind her of their relationship, especially with his mother coming back and seeing what she gave up to protect him.
August 18, 2012 at 3:53 pm #35050BonbonParticipantThanks, DeeLan. Since it’s on at 10:00, sometimes I nod off and miss something important. But the memory jog brought it back.
They started the show off with Little Red Riding Hood, and they did Three Little Pigs, Hansel and Gretel, and some other Grimm fairytales but they seem to have gotten away from featuring one fairytale each episode. I wish they’d go back to that because I always enjoyed trying to figure out which one they were doing.
August 18, 2012 at 7:15 pm #35059annieoParticipantBecause the captain told her (the blond woman Hesenbiest) that they had to keep Nick close to keep an eye on him. So if Juliette loses her memory he thinks that gives Nick nothing to stay around for. I think she’ll get the potion "in the "Nick" of time (bad pun) and be saved!
August 23, 2012 at 3:17 pm #35173TopazParticipantThe police captain "changed" on Monday’s episode, I believe, or will on the next episode.
