to his discussion on how the BP oil spill in the Gulf will impact the delicate ecosystems of the world’s oceans, and potentially trigger a series of events, including global sea level rise, that could kill our planet.
He was saying that a large methane gas bubble could be under the oil spill – the gulf is like a big bath tub so no where for the oil to go for awhile. If this methane gas is hit by lightening (they have a lot of lightening and thunder storms in that region), it could explode into a fire ball like a nuclear bomb – taking out Miami, Orlando, and most of southern Florida. (There was an explosion in 1986 – Lake Nyos in the Cameroon area that killed people 15.5 miles away and killed 2,000 people in one night). (Bonbon – you can pack up animals and come see me)
Dr. Ward (University of Washington in Seattle) said that unfortunately seeing the birds and animals being scrubbed down – is good for the heart but 90% of them die anyway three days later, due to the fact that oil is absorbed into the skin and inhaled and no matter how much scrubbing you can’t get the toxins from the oil out. He said the moneys being used for this effort would be better served stopping more of the oil from reaching the shores and at the source.
Another thing Dr. Ward mentioned was that if a hurricane comes to the region, it will be raining oil in Texas, Oklahoma, Indiana, and more – so what are all those states doing now? It is their growing season for corn, wheat, barley, etc., – what will that do for the price of food? Sky high.
And are any of you wondering how come you don’t see helicopters and planes flying over head so that we can all see how big this thing is? Area from Great Lakes to New York. Area from San Diego to San Francisco. The government put a no-fly zone up to keep the reporters from flying over to film. Wonder why we haven’t seen pictures taken from a U-2 spy plane? From the Space Station? They don’t want us all to know how big this oil spill is, both BP and the government in the White House.
The only good news is that Kevin Costner (movie actor) who has over the years developed centrifugal equipment that can sift the oil out of the water – but it took the TPB 61 days to OK trying it.
It was a three hour show – so I only mentioned highlights or else I’d be typing for six hours…I don’t know about you all – but I’m P.O.’d about the lack of help and solutions coming from Washington, D.C. This oil slick could eventually end up around New York…

Seriously, I don’t think most people fully understand the potential impact this is having. It has been dubbed the worst natural disaster in recorded history.
And I’ve heard the same thing about the animals. Not only what you mentioned but the cleaning removes all their natural oils that protect their bodies and they will die of many other causes.
Now I’m not a rocket scientist but it seems to me the drilling of one, or ideally two, relief wells would solve the problem. So why aren’t they frantically this done? I don’t know. But somebody better get it taken care of soon or we may not live to regret it.
The Sun-Sentinel newpaper published my letter to the editor last week that I think sums up the whole thing. It said: We can send a man to the moon, why can’t we stop this oil leak."
And thanks for your offer. Do you really have 53 dogs??? I guess you wouldn’t notice my two then.
June 21, 2010 at 1:45 pm #13809PattiParticipantthat we would never, ever begin to realize the ecological and economical disasters coming our way from this incident. With that in mind, what’s worse to me is the fact that like any catastrophic event our country has ever had to face, you can just bet your bottom dollar that we will never know the truth, the whole truth, and NOTHING BUT the truth. In this instance, I’m sure there are a multitude of untold facts affecting our future that government will never allow to reach us, and that we cannot even begin to imagine the umbrella effect that has yet to occur. I’m even more afraid to believe I would WANT to know. For now, I will continue to pray to God that it’s not too late already.
June 21, 2010 at 7:18 pm #1381153tdogsParticipanttime hoping California falls off into the ocean! Surprisingly enough, most of the folks I know here, with the exception of a few pocket enclaves like SF and LA, are wonderful, kind, church going, raise their kids right, hard working sane taxpayers…and the rest of us here wouldn’t mind those areas falling off into the ocean at all – they give the rest of us Californian’s a very bad reputation throughout the world.
I’m not sure why they (the PTB) aren’t doing every thing frantically to sustain this situation either, (which is why I’m so P.O.’d about it!!!!) There are tons of every day bright American’s who have great ideas, there are scientists, entrepreneurs, who all have been on t.v. showing how their products work – some as simple as hay, some more complex…but the government isn’t doing everything it can…and certainly not 63 days into it at all. Nero fiddles (or plays golf or goes sailing) while Rome (the Gulf) burns.
I do know from doing research that Soros has ties in his money and his companies to BP…and BHO is Soro’s boy…and they want Cap and Trade (Cap and Tax – as it is so succinctly called – the bill where your and my electricity and gas bill will go up $800 to $1200 a year – and we won’t be using that much that’s just what this bill is going to go to for C&T bill) – and this is the MAIN reason I’m so P.O.’d about this situation. The gov. is using this as an excuse to pass it. Arrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhh!
I think this is the worst man-made enviornmental disaster – that is for sure, (all though the experts say it was the eight year dust bowl 80 years ago)…the guy I was listening to on the radio said that this oil disaster was worse than the Exon-Valdez on the fourth day…we at day 63 now. All I know is – this is bad…this is very bad!
No, not 53 dogs, (not that I would mind that many…sometimes I think I like dogs better than most people). I born in ’53. The "T" is for the names of my doggies that I’ve had the last 16 years or so Tasz, Terra, Ty, (all gone to the big doggie house in the sky now), but Tippy is sleeping on my foot right now. Maggie – well, she was almost 11 when I adopted her because her Mom passed away suddenly and in the estate, her relatives were going to have Maggie "put down" just because of her age. Maggie has a lot of good, sweet, poochiepoo years left in her…so as old as she was, I couldn’t change her name to begin with a "T". Tippy was adopted right off the street six years ago – and since her name was a complete mystery – Tippy because of the white tip on her Border Collie tail and how her toes sound on the tile floor…
I’m praying for you all very much! God Bless you all!
