December 31, 2010 at 9:34 pm #19593BonbonParticipanta very exciting NY Eve this year. I’m going to have a glass of wine with my doggies (no, no wine for them, I’ll give them a doggie treat) and try to stay awake long enough to see the ball drop in Times Square. Then I’m going to give them both a hug and go to bed and get up to a brand new year.
Happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year to all of my friends here and all my friends everywhere else too.

January 1, 2011 at 2:12 pm #19615caseyParticipantWhere did the last decade go? Where does time go? Why does it fly faster every passing year? Peace and health and joy to all in this spanking new year!
January 1, 2011 at 7:08 pm #19622luckeyParticipanta new year always seems to offer so much hope for better days than the year before. That’s my wish for each of us!
January 1, 2011 at 11:34 pm #1962053tdogsParticipantof course 9/11 (not that we will ever get over that), and what to call the 2000’s. Remember some calling it ought-2, ought-6, and finally settled on 2000 and 1, 2, 3, etc. and now we also have to remember in the check books to put ones in front of the last number.
Very good question Casey, on why does time fly so fast as each year goes by and we get older. I remember when school was out for the summer from early childhood into my teens and those three months of lazy-hazy hot summer groovin’ days seemed to just last forever. Now, woooooooooosh! Another year has flown and is gone.
When my Dad was alive, I asked him once why it seemed like time flew by so fast, he said, "honey, you just turned 40, wait until you get my age and see how fast the years fly by…" And he was right!
Guess, like the old "59th Street Bridge Song" by Simon and Garfunkel goes, "….Slow down, you move too fast. You got to make the morning last. Just kicking down the cobble stones. Looking for fun and feelin’ groovy…"
Or in other words, stop and enjoy life – we’re only given 70 or 80 years on the planet to do so. Let’s make this year count and be great!
