how are you dealing with 51" of snow falling on Buffalo and the surrounding Lakes region, and forecastors predicting more on the way? Hope you’re okay. Wow, talk about one for the record books!!!!
November 19, 2014 at 2:36 pm #45972caseyParticipantfor thinking of me. First off, I live ironically in “ski country” 40 miles south of Buffalo and escaped the storm. Expect to get some on this second wave coming tonight, but am so grateful to get only a fraction of the mind-blowing amounts north of me. You cannot believe the massive volume of snow. Some areas when all said and done will have gotten 100 inches!! A whole season’s worth in two days. People open their front door to a wall of snow; saw a photo where the snow blasted right through the door. Six feet is not uncommon and sadly 5 have died including one who was buried in a 15 foot drift.
It is the most snow in recorded history over 36 hours. And frigid too – ten degrees here last night. Weirdly enough a “heat wave” coming this weekend where flooding will be the next issue.
As for the football game on Sunday I have no idea how they will remove all that accumulation.November 19, 2014 at 3:02 pm #45975PattiParticipantfrom what I’ve seen on our local news, which has dominated weather channels here as well, it is really frightening to see what the people directly hit by this monstrosity of snow are going through. I can’t even imagine what 100" of snow would look like, but take care and stay warm and safe.
I’m sure the field for Sunday’s game won’t be a problem, and a warm-up is expected, so good luck to both our teams. Ravens really needed that bye week, so let’s see how it pays off in New Orleans this week. The loss the Bills took in that Miami game was such a shame. I know how it feels when those turnovers cause a team to lose.
November 21, 2014 at 1:54 pm #45982PattiParticipantthey are moving the Buffalo game to Monday night in Detroit. Wow, that was some storm they had up there, and I really can’t remember that happening before, so looks like both our teams will be playing Monday night football this week. Can’t remember that happening before either.
November 21, 2014 at 2:16 pm #45983caseyParticipantreally ticked off if the Bills were in serious playoff contention and having to play in Detroit. The 12th man and being at home in the elements is such an advantage. It still burns me that they didn’t beat KC – a game they hand in the bag – since the Chiefs beat lowly Oakland last night.
But yes, it is strange both our teams play Monday night.
Best to both of us!November 21, 2014 at 3:46 pm #45984PattiParticipanthow’s that for a "go figure" moment….KC kicks butt and takes names when they beat Peyton and the Denver Broncos, then turn around last night and lose to the winless up til’ then Oakland Raiders? LOL! What a season!!!
