Something about the last couple days is really rubbing me the wrong way. First off, I have to say I’ve always been a big Bo/Hope fan, so while I’m ok with her moving on, it may be impacting my feelings. Anyway, this couple has been taking things slowly and carefully, then it comes out that Aiden was a mean, horrible husband, his wife hated him so much that she bought a gun and threatened him and herself not just once, but SEVERAL times, until she finally killed herself. Directly after that, Hope and Aiden tell each other they love each other and they race off to a hotel to consummate the relationship?? Where is Hope’s common sense? I think what bothers me more is not so much the storyline, but that I’ve seen it as a common thread among women. A man tells a woman what a horrible person they are, instead of running away, the woman commits even more to the relationship, then when the guy ends up being a jerk, they wonder what happened. Not to say women can’t do the same thing to men, I just haven’t seen it as often. It reminds me of the Maya Angelou quote "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." Hope should be old enough and have enough life experience as a cop to know better, especially with a young child in the house. He may completely be telling the truth, but what if he isn’t?

I mean, come on, a hotel room in the middle of the day. Not very classy IMO. I would much rather have seen them go on a romantic date first and then lead up to a “climax.” (No pun intended.)
But it’ll be interesting to see where they go now. Will this be a never-ending courtship or will we be led down another Daniel/Jenn road? If they go that way, please, just kill me now.
November 15, 2014 at 1:03 pm #45945PattiParticipantthese writers seem to thrive on angst, so I’m sure Hope and Aiden’s is just around the corner.
November 15, 2014 at 2:11 pm #45946caseyParticipantI agree, the hotel room scene was a nice, more tasteful change from the gropefest ones we’ve been seeing.
But I too felt similarly with Jess’ comments. The viewer has not gotten enough info here to trust Aiden completely. And Hope should not either. What was Aiden’s wife’s back story? Did she have some mental/emotional problems prior to Aiden? Why was he a part of these disturbing outbursts too?
Why didn’t Hope probe him and just assume it was all on the wife? Perhaps Aiden can be violent? That’s the hot issue these days – domestic violence, so maybe Days is picking up on it?
I just don’t know. Aiden seems like an upstanding guy but “seems” may be the key. It could be an interesting SL if written well.
Also, by making Aiden a flawed person ,could this be a setup for a possible Bo return?
I could be all wrong.November 15, 2014 at 2:14 pm #45947mommytutuParticipantPeter Reckell likes to tweet things that gives his fans hope for a return to Days. Wonder if TPTB, are trying to throw in enough wrenches so that they could make Aiden horrible if PR finally decides to return. I honestly hope that doesn’t happen, but you never know with Days.

A first night with a man you claimed you’ve been into for so long and nothing? No bikini wax, nice lingerie? Nothing!!! It all felt cheap to me. Mid-day sex in a hotel room after a major confession (that in my opinion was kind of boring.) All the while we get a futuristic sex scene. No thanks!!! I miss when we used to see a lot of kissing, petting and the camera pans away and I, as the viewer, can imagine what happened. The next scene shows them AFTER. That’s how I like the scenes to be shown. No groping and no sci-fi sex like we got to see with Bo/Hope.

November 16, 2014 at 6:24 am #45952BonbonParticipantReally TFlo? I didn’t get that out of it at all. I saw it as more of a fantasy, dreamy happening and really liked it. And we weren’t subjected to all the graphic parts they like to show us. No, I thought it was very well done.
The only thing I didn’t like was the “seediness” of the old “hotel in the afternoon” aspect of it. I would rather have seen them end up in bed after a fantastic, romantic date.
November 16, 2014 at 1:21 pm #45953midwifemamaParticipantOn the other hand they both have kids who are active, dealing with the loss of a parent and given Ciara, sneaky, so better a hotel room where there is no risk of a kid walking in on them. Most kids do not want to think of their parents having a sex life and look at the damage Sami experienced when she saw John and Marlena having sex. I feel going to a hotel in the afternoon makes a lot of sense and it was a nice place with a spa package!
November 16, 2014 at 2:05 pm #45954bluebonnetParticipantI thought the same thing you did, TFlo, about Hope’s not having a chance to prepare! The first time should be special enough to warrant at least some nice lingerie. Hope didn’t even have a chance to brush her teeth. Anyway, that was the first thing that ran through my mind.
November 16, 2014 at 2:37 pm #45955TFlo1018ParticipantIt kinda felt "futuristic" to me. I, like you, hate the steamy groping as well. As I said, I would’ve preferred some nice kissing, romance, undressing etc. Maybe some of her kissing his chest and such. Then commercial – and then come back to them being done.
The groping scenes are too much for me most times – unless they are important to the story (like EJ and Abby.) Most times though I can do w/o it.
