I know this has been touched on before but I just have to say, Hope’s behavior doesn’t make sense. It’s total plot driving story here. The Hope I have come to know over the years would never have moved in with Victor, kept Bo’s daughter from him or been the least bit threatened by Carly. As for Bo, why can’t he work with Hope? Why can’t he get her to help Carly too instead of alienating her? After all they have been through, the death of Zach and all of Stefano’s manipulations I just don’t buy that this incident with the kidnapping would drive them apart. It’s like they are 2 completely different characters.
December 5, 2009 at 2:59 am #810553tdogsParticipantAnd just to mention a little tid bit of how Hope is being like now ~ what about all those times that Bo and Hope were separated by horrendous odds and scripts, i.e., the cruise, acid pit, Princess Gina, Stephano, Patrick Lockhart, Billie, the baby switch, Zack’s death, Larry, Andre and on and on and on…however, when Bo and Hope always, always, always came back together – and they always promised each other that they would never be seperated or not be understanding of each other again??? So why is Hope all of a sudden treating Bo like he has rabies? Plllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzz! This is not how one treats the love of one’s life!
December 5, 2009 at 3:54 am #8110majencoParticipantAll I can say is if Bo cheats with Carly at this point this couple should be done for good. How much craziness is one couple suppsed to withstand before it’s just too much? They should both know better by now.
December 5, 2009 at 4:07 am #8111kprstrsParticipantThese two used to be my favorites. When they annihilated John & Marlena, I thought Bo & Hope would be the matriarch/patriarch and they should have been. Now this. Absolutely intolerable!
December 5, 2009 at 4:11 pm #8126caseyParticipantI keep going back to when Hope was ready to come home and Bo was less than enthusiastic, citing the “danger” to Hope and Ciarra. How lame was that? It’s like the writers take turns turning Bo and Hope into ridiculous juvenile characters.
December 5, 2009 at 6:59 pm #8129mommytutuParticipantI am absolutely sick of Hope’s behavior. I just ff through every scene with her. When the writers decide to start writing her character with some common sense, I’ll watch her again.
December 9, 2009 at 5:04 pm #8243steelersfannParticipantI agree with everything you all have said in this area. Hope is driving me crazy!! I like it when Bo says to her…"you’re the one who moved out…" He’s right! (I hasten to add that I think his behavior with Carly is a bit much) Hope is so arbitrary and condescending to him, like she’s the only one who needs to be the decision maker in their marriage. She won’t evern try to work things out with him. Poor Ciara–all she wants is her Daddy and Mommy and to be home. (that little girl is such a cutey!!!) Serves Hope right if Bo does move on–in real life I think many men would!!
December 9, 2009 at 6:33 pm #8245DCola522ParticipantWhat happened to fighting for your man!! Esp Hope! She’s always portrayed as being so tough yet the second Carly arrives, she all but admits defeat. If she really loves Bo, then why is she sitting idly by while he caters to Carly?? Stand up for your marriage!!
December 9, 2009 at 10:24 pm #8255caseyParticipantToday at least it appeared that we may have some movement on the Hope front, planning to ferret out Carly’s secret.
But boy, I sure wanted to see Hope return home and reclaim her territory by lambasting Carly, that no matter what Bo said, she should show some respect for the Brady marriage/family and home and skiddadle on outta there! Carly does not belong in that house!December 10, 2009 at 4:42 am #8261kprstrsParticipantI have room at my place if Bo wants to move on!!! I can’t stand the plot driving storylines. What has happened to the good old ‘Days’? While we cannot expect things to be the same forever, what the writers have done to this show is shameful. Can we not have just ONE strong, loving couple? Is that too much to ask?
December 10, 2009 at 11:23 am #8268June66watcherParticipantPammydog, thank you for bringing the historical aspect into this discussion. I too, am frustrated w/Bo & Hope’s actions and reactions in the current storyline but putting your comments into perspective, the past (and way-way-past) storylines were when DOOL was a highly rated soap.
And here we are begging that our soap will get a contract renewal, so we can continue with our addiction to the Salemites…. which requires good ratings. For the past 40 years, I’ve always said "I hate this storyline" but I really hate to admit that this is what keeps the ratings up.
Your reference to following the characters (books & soaps) is right up my alley. We want to see and feel the love, the hardships overcome, the hard lessons learned. The soap writes don’t agree w/me, but I want to see long lasting, connected relationships — the kind that finishes each other’s sentences!
Thanks again for your insight.
December 10, 2009 at 2:26 pm #8274IzzyBParticipantI personally do not understand why Hope NEEDS to know the secreat between Bo and Carly. I mean really, is that the reason Hope won’t come back?!? How lame is that. Couples all the time have friends of their own and they don’t always tell each other the secreats of their friends. If it has nothing to do with the couple, which Bo has stated, then what is the big deal? It is something Carly does not want the whole world to know and lately Hope has not been able to keep her mouth shut. So I don’t blame them.
December 10, 2009 at 9:26 pm #8288Bos MomParticipantHope should standing facing Carly singing–"you ain’t woman enoough to take my man"!!!!!!
December 10, 2009 at 10:59 pm #8292caseyParticipantThis whole storyline continues to drive me nuts. When Hope came over w/Ciarra to trim the tree, it was only at her daughter’s prodding that she was going to stay? She sure isn’t thinking of her daughter, that Ciarra needs to know the security of family, to keep things as normal as possible. No, Hope decides to play the self-involved victim.
This pair continues to slide downhill and I have no clue how the producers/writers think this is the right direction.December 11, 2009 at 12:31 am #8293majencoParticipantI was appalled at how nosy she was being. Who cares about Carly?? She should just get back with Bo. This whole thing is ridiculous. She is acting more like the old Sami than Hope with the whole finding out Carly’s secret and throwing it in her face stuff. Blech.
