I don’t get it. It is obvious that the pills have side effects and warnings about sleepwalking, so How will Hope end up in jail? It seems to me if anyyhing she will be put into a hospital.
August 7, 2010 at 3:53 am #15258drea4713ParticipantI don’t see how any jury would convict her and send her to jail, when it’s obvious to anyone that knows her that is not her personality. So…take the pills away and it takes care of the problem. I know they have to ramp up the drama, but I would think any DA with a brain wouldn’t waste his time or the taxpayers money to prosecute to send her to jail! I think it will be more of her dealing with her guilt and Arianna realizing Hope helped set her up (even though she didn’t know it).
And of course Bo & Carly untangling the mess they made.
August 7, 2010 at 5:48 am #15260DeeLanParticipantI don’t know about the DA not wasting taxpayers money. He’s very anti Brady, he was one of her victims and he just lost his wife. I have a feeling he’s going to be out for blood.
August 7, 2010 at 11:59 am #15261BonbonParticipantThere will be no trial because Hope plead guilty to the crime. If she still pleads guilty at the arraingment, that will take the DA completely out of the picture. All that remains is for a judge to decide what the denouement will be. He could send her to jail OR somewhere for rehabilitation. And that’s where Hope made an enormous mistake by admiting to the crimes. She should have had the advice of an attorney so she could do some plea bargaining and then she would likely have gotten off with time in a mental hospital, or even probation with the stipulation she receive treatment for a certain period.
Let that be a lesson to everyone. It’s all well and good to ‘do the right thing’ and admit your guilt but, on the other hand, you shouldn’t throw away any chances of mitigating the circumstances either. It reminds me of something my son said when he was thinking of becoming an attorney. Someone asked him how he could defend someone he knew was guilty. He said he wouldn’t be defending him to ‘get away with a crime’ but to make sure he was getting a fair trial and could make use of all the law allowed him. And that’s exactly what Hope missed the boat on.
It would seem to me IRL, facts concerning the drug would be gathered and the judge would not even consider jail time, but that would only happen if she plead guilty with mitigating circumstances. Or, she could plead not guilty and go through a trial where the drug effects would be brought out. Anyway, it’ll be interesting to see how these hack writers handle that aspect of the law or if they even pay any attention to it whatsoever.
August 7, 2010 at 12:28 pm #15264caseyParticipantto make viewers think Hope will go to the big house. But I can’t see what good another jail scene will do, so I have to think the drug psychosis defense will come in and lead eventually to B&H reconcilliation.
August 7, 2010 at 1:44 pm #15265NoraParticipantShouldn’t they get a whole new DA anyway? DA Woods shouldnt be the DA becuase Hope attacked him. Right???
August 7, 2010 at 2:23 pm #15267PattiParticipantand no mitigating or drug-influenced circumstance is going to change her opinion of what she did. She, too, is a police officer and, unlike some police officers who choose to use their badge as a shield protecting them from criminal acts, Hope will choose to ‘do the right thing.’ If Daniel would not have shown up when he did, followed closely by Roman and the EMT’s, Bo would be dead, and killed in a horrible way … being burned alive. So, regardless of what the law states, Hope will not ever be able to live with what she has done, much less what she would have done to Bo, so I think she will be going to jail, whether it is right for her situation or not. In time, therapy and counseling will be her salvation, but I don’t see that happening right away. Hope will not have it any other way, that’s my guess.
August 7, 2010 at 5:08 pm #1527153tdogsParticipantfrom the case – he couldn’t proscecute the case.
August 7, 2010 at 5:12 pm #1527253tdogsParticipantget drug counseling and other long term family counseling at the very least. But with that new jail warden…not so sure she won’t get at least a spin through the revolving doors at the Salem prison.
August 7, 2010 at 6:23 pm #15276SWParticipantor read her her rights, etc. since he was a victim and so was Fauxman. But, since there don’t appear to be any other cops other than Rafe (FBI) running around, I guess we have to see the Brady boys doing it!
August 7, 2010 at 9:37 pm #15277shadowParticipantRoman and Bo should not have been the only ones listening and watching her confession. They didn’t want Hope to confess, so they could "throw the book" at Dr. Baker and let him take the rap for the crime. Seems underhanded to me. And they are Salem’s finest???? Roman really gets on my nerves with his "what tha hell" all the time and the way he does his mouth when he talks and his cocky attitude.
August 8, 2010 at 12:24 am #15282SWParticipantthat was not the way the REAL Roman acted, it IS the way Chris K. acted when he was on the show. I still don’t believe him as Roman.
August 8, 2010 at 2:18 am #1528353tdogsParticipantmy "Days" time. When did he leave and this Roman take over? I’ve heard everyone speak of Chris and maybe it’s just my memory.
August 8, 2010 at 11:30 am #15285BonbonParticipantbut it was quite some time ago. In fact, I’d bet that by now Josh has played the part longer than the original Roman, Wayne Northrup, did.
I don’t have any problem accepting him as Roman. It took a while but now, to me anyway, he IS Roman, although I never did care much for Wayne.
As for his mannerisms, well, that’s just Roman. I think you could find something that every actor on the show does that could bug someone. Remember how we always used to gripe about John’s (and Hope’s) eyebrow? And now it’s EJ’s blinking? I guess you could say that it’s things like that that make the character their own.
August 8, 2010 at 7:10 pm #1529053tdogsParticipanta picture of him too) – you are correct Josh has been on as Roman for about 12 years now (all total) and Wayne was only for 6 total – I started watching in ’91 so he was on for four years back then.
After a time, I can get used to another actor playing a part – the only ones I don’t think I ever could have done that for would have been John (Drake) and Marlena (Diedre) and probably Stefano (Joe) now. I got used to a new Belle, Shawn, Kate, Lexie, Phillip, even a Sami, Bo, Hope, etc., took me awhile on some of them…others fit right in…probably because there was a long gap in the story line for most of them. Thanks for the info!
