I loved seeing the Horton’s Christmas tree and watching everyone place their ornaments on. I appreciated Julie for calling Bo and Hope out on how ridiculous they’re being! The little girl playing Allie was so cute. How old are Sami’s twins supposed to be?
Was it just me or was that tree the exact same one as in the Kiriakis mansion?

I always loved the huge Christmas ornament shows. The last few years it was like they just tossed them on. Bonnie’s gaudy ornament was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. I think Nicole’s broke right as it went on the tree just as her marriage to Lucas did.

December 25, 2009 at 8:00 pm #8825SWParticipantvery slightly after seeing today’s show.
December 26, 2009 at 9:50 pm #8852PunkyParticipantYes I’m a day ahead as I’m in Canada.
December 28, 2009 at 2:01 am #8909CatLady54ParticipantI would have loved to see some flashbacks with Tom, Alice, Bill, Mickey, Laura, Jack & Jennifer and Maggie when she had her 1st Christmas at the Hortons. All those actors are gone from the show, so they could have used tapes of the original actors, how nice that would of been – an hour show of that.
December 28, 2009 at 12:59 pm #8912SWParticipantdon’t they still have to pay a residual if they show their work? If the answer is yes, that’s probably why we don’t see the old shots.
December 29, 2009 at 12:24 pm #8957June66watcherParticipantDid you see that All My Children is presenting clips of shows dating back over their 40 years? Play dates are early January. As soon as I saw it, I said ‘why didn’t DOOL think of that? I know there are financial, technical issues as to who owns what, etc. but you can’t disagree with the theory that bringing forth the historical aspects of the show would be good for viewership.
December 29, 2009 at 2:20 pm #8963BonbonParticipantThey do have to pay the actors if they play clips of the past, which is really too bad because there’s so much good stuff I’m sure we’d all love to see.
One exception to this is if they had it in their contract that all rights to past episodes remain the sole property of the show. I believe in that case they can do so. The only problem with that is, no agent in their right mind would ever allow a client to sign a contract with that condition in it, except maybe a brand new actor who is trying to break into the business and will make a concession to that to get the job.
