that her mom was in town just because she was on the phone. She looks at the phone and says "Why is she here, she came back to see if I told the truth about the baby" or somethink like that. I just thought it was funny, Kayla could have been anywhere when she call, even at her house. But Steph knew she was in town. Did anyone else catch that?
January 3, 2011 at 6:39 pm #19655ChelluvParticipantthats what i thought, it irritated me. text maybe?
January 3, 2011 at 7:38 pm #19659DeeLanParticipantMaybe her cell phone doesn’t work in Africa or wherever it is she’s suppose to be.
When my stepdaughter calls on her cell from Sweden it shows up as Out of Area.
January 3, 2011 at 9:37 pm #1967353tdogsParticipantwhere in the world, (Paris to Africa) where they didn’t have first class reception and service…when I got my cell – I was chatting with the sales lady and she watched Day’s too and we were laughing at that when I said I want the same service plan that they do in Salem!
January 4, 2011 at 1:58 am #19688ta143ParticipantMaybe she was calling from a land line, like the hospital phone, to tell her about Caroline’s stroke. You’re not supposed to use your cell phone in some parts of the hospital. The hospital phone would show a Salem area code. Or, does Kayla have an office at the hospital still?
January 4, 2011 at 2:55 am #19690DeeLanParticipantIf she was using a landline then Stephanie wouldn’t know it was Kayla calling by the caller ID. It’s just another tidbit of information the writers glossed over and expect us to believe.
January 4, 2011 at 3:19 am #1969453tdogsParticipantin the state of California we had caller ID on our landline phones since the late 90’s, it didn’t show the person calling but showed the telephone number so if you knew the numbers of the people calling you’d know who was calling (even from outside state telephone numbers). In 2002, because of 9/11, we got total caller Id with the names as well. Stephanie would know Kala’s number either with cell phone or landline phone so she would have know it was her mom. I can’t remember how long I’ve had caller ID on my home phone but it’s been eons (at least since 2000 or before).
January 4, 2011 at 3:16 pm #19698DeeLanParticipantBut Kayla doesn’t live in Salem anymore so why would she have a landline phone. Not all numbers show up on caller ID. I get some that just say "Out of Area" some say "Private Number" and some say "Unknown Caller" and once in a while the Out of Area will show the number but not the name. If Kayla is using a cell phone it would only show her name and/or number but not her location. If she used the phone at the pub, church or a phone at the hospital it wouldn’t have Kayla’s name associated with so there’s still no way for Stephanie to know Kayla was the one making the call.
January 4, 2011 at 4:51 pm #19702justwonderingParticipantI. thought that her mom’s cell number came up so Steph knew she had to be stateside cause the phone wouldn’t work in Africa
January 4, 2011 at 6:43 pm #19708DeeLanParticipantI guess is would depend on where in Africa she was and if they had wireless service there. My Stepdaughter lives in Sweden and her cell phone works in both Sweden and the US as she was using it all the time when she was visiting us.
January 4, 2011 at 7:35 pm #19709layseaParticipantbecause nathan ask her if she was going to answer it and she said no, she was going to let it go to VM. Just another thing days didn’t think through or didn’t think we would catch!!
