I would disagree about being that way in public HOWEVER i do live in New York City. And remember, Salem is supposed to be this major city/international hub (remember – they have direct flights to everywhere and a major shipping port LOL.) But yes, i’m other parts of the US I would agree that the intimacy would be limited to the bedroom – 100%.
I’m not sure if they are trying to be "edgy." It’s been done wayyyyyyyy too much on other soaps – and they tend to write those characters off after a while. I think it’s more the gay rights movement, tackling a relevant issue and overall being "current" with what is really going on in the world. I’d associate ‘edgy" DOOL with Carly being buried alive, Marlena possessed, Susan/Kristen etc. All looney, and I loved it all, but that was probably an attempt at "edge" if you ask me.
For what it’s worth – i’m not a fan of PDA in public myself – but I do see it quite a bit… gay or straight. I find it tacky personally!!!
February 9, 2013 at 3:05 pm #37748mommytutuParticipantWith Sami and EJ and the 2/4 episode. OMG! Between Sami and EJ, Daniel and Jennifer and Sonny and the guy he was with, all I can say is what was Days thinking? It was just too much! I’m not an old fuddy fuddy (or at least I don’t think I am) but that show was just a complete ff for me. I don’t need all the groping and slobbery kissing. Where’s the story?
February 9, 2013 at 3:28 pm #37749PattiParticipantthat’s the great thing about opinions — everybody has them. You sound like an intelligent guy who, albeit, feels a certain way about expressing your views on a very controversial topic discussed quite a bit on this board and have now decided to join us, yet you do so with a very prominent chip on your shoulder. I respect your opinion; I just wish you would not have decided to voice it in a way in which you have chosen to condemn some of our opinions, while at the same time so easily decide your own …. that we are a homophobic and hypocritical bunch for sure. In the case of people who have very strong religious beliefs, this could possibly be true; otherwise, they are points of view to be taken with a grain of salt as to whether you agree or disagree. I have very strong opinions on many matters, as you will undoubtedly come to realize the longer you stay with us. However, they are mine to have as yours are your own to have. When a conversation gets a little heated regarding differences of opinions, I try my darnedest to keep my responses civil …. sometimes it works for me …… sometimes not so much. But this is a terrific group of people who have learned to ‘know when to hold em’ …. know when to fold em’ and not let any opinion get too out of hand so as to create more animosity than it’s worth. I for one love when new members join this board. So, welcome! I look forward to some serious debates with you down the line. LOL!

I do come across a bit "chippy" – part of being a native New Yorker maybe. Plus – if we all had this convo in person then it would probably not come across nearly as aggressive. That’s reading written words I assume. I only call em as I see em, and when Bon replied I replied back – even agreeing that my perception of the original post might have been different had the original post made been written differently.
Just so you all know, i’ve been watching a long time (I’m 34 – mom started when pregnant with me and I watched as a kid – but started faithfully in the early 90s) and have been reading the board a long time as well. I’ve truly enjoyed a lot of what you all have had to say but now that I have an opportunity to post i’m happy to have healthy debates.
With that said – thanks for the welcome, much apprecaited. Now if you can get Daniel, Jennifer and Rafe off the show for good i’d be a happy guy LOL
February 9, 2013 at 5:05 pm #37757bluebonnetParticipantI completely agree with you about losing those three characters. I used to like Jennifer and Rafe, but not any more. And, never have been a big fan of Daniel’s.
February 9, 2013 at 5:12 pm #37760BonbonParticipantIf you’ve been reading this board for a while, you have to know that I’m NOT homophopic. I will admit to occasional hypocracy however. :o)
February 9, 2013 at 10:00 pm #37762TFlo1018ParticipantAs a non poster I could never read replies – just initial posts. LOL… We’re all a little hypocritical aren’t we?
And YES – please get rid of Jenn, Daniel and Rafe. All 3 are soooooooooo boring!!!
February 10, 2013 at 2:04 am #37765mommytutuParticipantEye candy! Just get rid of Jennifer if she’s going to whine and dress like a 90 yr. old grandma. And please let Sami and EJ go on a very long vacation.
February 10, 2013 at 4:18 am #37767TFlo1018ParticipantI love Sami n Ej together
February 10, 2013 at 11:21 pm #37779powerpaw2ParticipantI’ve been "out" on the board for a while. While some board members don’t support gays for moral/religious reasons, they have always been respectful of me and we have some good discussions about the subject. I’ve never felt that anyone is homophobic. If they are, they haven’t directed it at me.
