with (again from SoapCentral)Former partner with E.J. Wells in Mythic, Former Executive Assistant for Austin Reed and Company, Former Receptionist / Filer at Basic Black, Former Receptionist at Salem University Hospital, Former Director of Imaging at Titan Publishing.

It seemed that when Sami "worked" she was always out to lunch, talking, flirting, late to work, or hacking into computers, I don’t ever recall that Sami was at any of those jobs/careers/employment opportunities for more than a month or two at a time, if that, so just how much experience or education does she actually have to be in a position of power or even be gopher in a company?   Sami reminds me of Blance DuBois in Streetcar Named Desire – "I have always depended on the kindness of strangers…" and then the strangers get to know the real Sami – LOL!

I think that Sami is starting to grow up or should I say the writers are finally allowing her to grow up.  But their are a ton of speed bumps going from a stay at home mother to a working mother and they are showing them in a realistic manner.  I have REALLY enjoyed the Sami at work scenes and this whole Madison vs Kate war with Brady and Sami in the mix.  It has made for some great dialog and I am impressed with the writers and how they are allowing some characters grow up that have needed to grow up for years.

And just because you have help with your kids does not mean you don’t care for your kids.  I have always thought Sami lived her kids.  She may have not always done the best things, but in her mind it was always for the kids.  My mom watches my kids to allow me to get things done around the house, run errands, or even go out with my husband.  I have 24 hour nursing for my son and I take advantage of that to catch up on things that are really behind after having twins.  That does not make me a bad parent.  I am realistic and know I need to catch up now before the help is gone.

Actually, Will would be 18 (first year in college) and Sami had him when she was 16, so 34 is her correct age.

I didn’t mean it that way.  Just wanted to correct her age.  I didn’t even read the part about everything she did because I think we all know Sami is no saint.  But either are a lot of characters on the show that are good guys now like Julie and Jack.  Past characters like Stephan were reformed too.  I think since Sami has been with Rafe she has reformed a little bit and I think these new writers are looking to reform her the rest of the way.

I think Sami was messed up as a young kid by having multiple parents come in and out of her life (Marlena was there then gone, Roman was there then gone, then he was John, then he was roman again, etc), seeing her mother cheat, and then being raped.  Lets face it she didn’t have a stable childhood, which made her who she was.  Some times she went a little too far, but I blame some of that on bad writing (i.e. Stan!).

I am just willing to give this new working mom Sami a chance.

like so many in Salem? How many actually pay dues or work their way up the ladder? Take Melanie – earned her nursing degree in like two months and was in the operating room assiting!
Having said that, maybe the writers are ready to show Sami actually working.

Don’t forget her stint as "Stan" who got John hooked on drugs!

If Sami actually keeps this job for a year, then I will become a believer in Sami’s reformation!

I love it when she’s calm & has an ally on her side. Remember when her & Nicole were getting along for a while? I enjoyed her much better back then. And you’re right, I have not forgotten about all of her wrong-doing. She would have never passed a background check in any other normal job lolol.

I did not mean to imply that having help makes you a bad mother. In this day and age, everyone needs help. What I meant is that most working people do not have a nanny, cleaning lady, cook, etc.  I raised 5 children and worked fulltime. I was lucky to have a great daytime babysitter befor my kids were school age, but the household chores were still mine.

Once they were in school, laundry, cooking, cleaning, activites(sports, scouts) were my responsibility. I was lucky to have a mom to watch my kids if we went out at night.  But most of us are not the DiMeras who have live in help and can come and go as they please.

My youngest are twin boys so I know what it is like to have 2 babies. Add to it my other children were 2,4 and 7. Take whatever help you can and make sure you enjoy your kids.

I merely meant that Sami’s situation now is more realistic than before.

I was not commenting on your post, well I was.  I was agreeing with you and then in the next paragraph was responding to someone else who said Sami is not a good parent and leaves her kids with Grandma all the time.  Sorry for the confusion.
