He’s still there and it doesn’t seem like there is any obvious way for him to exit – will they do something lame like have him go to London to work with Billie or to Switzerland to work with Austin and Carrie?
Maybe he will go upstairs to play with the kids, like Stefano told him to do at the wedding. Or they will just not have him appear and get brief mentions every now and then, like so many other characters who just seem to disappear.
I know he said in an interview that they told him if he didn’t want to show up for his last day it was OK. He was going to but found he only had 1 line so he opted out of being there. That leads me to believe there really is no exit, he just won’t be seen or heard from again. Like they did Steve and Kayla. After he’s off screen for a while they might make mention of him going out of town.
His last day was this past week. The last time we saw him he was running after Sami when she left the Pub and that was it. He is done. I will be curious to see if he comes back for the Alice scenes or if he has such a bad taste in his mouth that he decides to not come back. I know in SOD he said he would not come back to Days, that if Lucas came back it would be a different actor. Now that was before her death, so he may change his mind and come back for a show or two. Maybe when he does they can do a real exit.
They come up with plausible exits for all kinds of characters that have not been on the show for nearly as long, like Max and Chelsea. So he’s best man at his brother’s wedding taking care of everything and then the bride gets shot and he vaporizes – makes sense to me (NOT!)
if they don’t give us any specific reason why we’re not seeing him anymore, we can assume he’s still in the background somewhere. It would make sense to do that so they can have someplace for Ali to be when she’s not with Sami (which is all the time). But if they send him off to London, or whatever, then Ali will have to spend all her time at the pub with Caroline who seems to be MIA also.
