Today’s conversation w/Will today about his fear of college (ie – the fear of not being one of the “boys”) should have sent red flags waving for Gabby. Could Will’s childlike trepidation of keeping his secret be any clearer?
June 27, 2011 at 11:39 pm #24822PattiParticipantif they try to rush it, it’s not going to work. In the first place, he is beginning to doubt himself to the point of questioning what he wants. One thing he knows he does NOT want is to hurt Gabi in any way. At the same time he’s just now realizing that something is going on with him that he might not yet even be able to explain, but he knows what he does not want, so I’m feeling his pain right now. Even when "T" suggested that they room together, he was awkward in his response, even though his friend meant it in a way like, ‘hey, we’re college men now so why don’t we room together?’ Will was, I think, surprised at himself as to how he took it. Please writers, don’t mess this up by having him develop ‘overnight’ feelings for Sonny once he reveals that he is gay. This story will be filled with emotions if done right, but if they take it too fast, they will ruin it. Will’s coming to understand his feelings and preferences should be quite a story if it’s taken in baby steps. He doesn’t even know why he feels this sudden disinterest in Gabi yet, only that he does not want to be with her romantically, and that’s the way it should be depicted for now.

Hopefully it will not be presented front burner until AFTER the RAfe2 storyline is wrapped up but rather a gradual realizatoin on Will’s part. It would be too much for Sami to handle if she was still trying to get EJ back for what he did with RAfe.

Mainly cause unlike other storlines, there is no going back from this meaning he cannot "change back" ina couple of month, this is a keeper. not against a gay story, just would have preferred someone other than Will.
July 5, 2011 at 6:31 pm #24963IzzyBParticipantI think any of the other younger non-core characters would have been a mistake. Mainly because this SL is going to be major and I would rather have someone we know in it vs. shove a two strangers in our face for a mjor SL.
July 7, 2011 at 2:40 pm #24997mommytutuParticipantIf they dropped two new characters on us and made them gay, we wouldn’t have any emotional attachment to them or their story. So much better to go with a character we’ve known since birth (not actor) and have some love and concern for. I also don’t mind seeing Will on screen in a major story, but I would be a unhappy to see a couple of new characters eat up all of the screen time. I think if this story is done well, it is going to be very powerful.
July 7, 2011 at 4:25 pm #25001IzzyBParticipantI love that the other character involved, while new, is tied to a couple most people love and are on Days right now. I think they picked perfect characters for a story like this, because the families on both sides are going to have to deal with it. Which I think that is going to make it an even more powerful SL if done correctly. I just hope over the next month it does not progress too much so that the new writers write the majority of this SL.
I can’t believe the Dena actually picked characters who are involved with the major families in Salem. She loved shoving characters in our face with front burner SLs all the time!!!!
