John talked about going to all of Carrie’s parent conferences while she was growing up. Correct me if I’m wrong here, but isn’t Carrie the child of Roman and Anna? How would Carrie have grown up living with John and Marlena? I’ve watched off and on since this show started and I can’t recall how that whole dynamic played out.
or at least thought he was. As far as the show was being written, he was Roman until the real Roman returned. I think that’s when they decided John was actually The Pawn instead.
When Stef was a real bad guy he took the real Roman. Everyone thought he was dead. John Black came to salem and they all thought he was Roman. So he asumed Roman Brady’s life and raised Sami, Eric and Carrie. Carrie at first did not except him as Roman she knew somehow he wasnt the real Roman. She later grew to believe he was her Father.
She is Roman and Anna’s Daughter but Marlena and Roman took custody and raised her. Wierd i remember carrie as a little girl in pig tails putting her arm around the two at the dinner table when she started living with the real Roman and Marlena.
How ironic that you mentioned the character from the sitcom Full House…I was just watching a few episodes (season one) of the show, via DVD! Awesome! lol
John never really knew who he was and just when he thought he had it figured out another identiy would come to light.
First he was John Black with no history. Then Marlena and Caroline thought he was Roman returned from the dead. Then when real Roman returned he went back to John Black. Then he was told he was Forest Alamain, long lost brother of Lawrence. That’s why Vivian paid for one of his funerals. Then it was finally revealed that he was Ryan Brady, son of Colleen Brady and Santo DiMera but when Colleen got sick and couldn’t return to work at the orphanage where her and infant Ryan were seeking refuge he was given to the Alamains so he could still Forest Alamain, ADOTPTED son of the Alamains and still brother of Lawrence and nephew of Vivian.
what John looked like before the plastic surgery Stefano had given him was a photo of the original Roman (Marlena thought he was dead as he had gone over a cliff into the ocean below and Bo had held him in his arms while he thought he died, when Bo went to get help for Roman- he left him on the beach and the tide was thought to have taken his body out to sea). Then Marlena was kidnapped by Orpheus (? I believe that was his name) and John saw a plane blow up that was supposed to have Marlena in it but she wasn’t in it. So John became the sole parent of Carrie, Sami, and Eric while Marlena was gone. He still thought he was the real Roman during that time. Andrea Barber was the first Carrie who was Anna and Roman’s daughter. Anna ran off from Roman because she wanted the good life. She at one time lied and claimed that Stefano had held her as a white slave on a cruise ship where she had given birth to Carrie. She came back to Salem with a 5 year old Carrie that she tried to use against the real Roman but she eventually gave custody to Roman and he and Marlena married and raised Carrie and then had the twins.
and got an instand headache, finally subsided with the help of some Tylenol. So happy we’re not going that route any longer.
Thanks for the info. John raising Carrie was before my Day’s time (1991) so it’s always good to read about this and that…thanks!
