of people being in the position of thinking the other knows all about “the secret” when they are referring to something else entirely. It keeps happening over and over and over. Come on, writers, come up with something new.

I guess this is what the writers go to when they can’t think of one more thing to write.

for material shame on them. No excuses. They rarely seem to venture beyond musical chairs couplings, petty jr high revenge or who’s the daddy. Even the stories that tie in characters ala Nick are hardly compelling. Maybe if we knew Nick was truly dead it would lend some suspense.

And the SLs that involve those I like – Fr Eric for example – lose steam with repetitive dialog and not moving forward at a brisker clip. Plus the fact that the show’s longtime villain – Stef – has only become a paper tiger for years now.

I know it’s a soap opera, all of which tend to write this insulting, OTT dialogue throughout a scene, followed by a senseless stare at the end of each segment, and honestly it drives me nuts, too. I want to scream at the actors instead of the writers, and sometimes do. So many other things I can think of that bug me about soaps as well, yet I continue to watch or tape every day. Does that make me a glutton for punishment??? LOL!!!. I just think it’s the norm for writers of a soap, something like “soap opera writing 101” being mandatory for all writers. I lurk on lots of boards, and the writing or writers are generally criticized on all 4 soaps remaining on the air.
