ARe you kidding me??? when the show finally is good they have to to interrupt with a presidential something or other message. GRRRR!
November 9, 2012 at 6:40 pm #36339MKParticipantWhat was the message, Nora? I bet it wasn’t anything important.
November 9, 2012 at 7:13 pm #36341BonbonParticipantI haven’t watched yet so I can FF through it. I can’t imagine anything he’d have to say I’d want to listen to.
November 9, 2012 at 7:29 pm #36342MKParticipantIt was probably about the tax hike plan. If that’s the case, why interrupt Days for it? There’s a time and place for this kind of thing. Haven’t we all suffered enough for months with all of the political campaign commercials? Let people enjoy some entertainment and focus the speech on the news, online, newspapers, etc. Unless it’s an emergency and I need to know right then, then I would understand.
November 9, 2012 at 7:34 pm #36344goodolddaysParticipantDays is on at 3 pm where I live, so hopefully no interruptions for me. What does he have to say already? More thank yous, or bad news for us?
November 9, 2012 at 10:20 pm #36349trykeryderParticipantDavid Petraias (sp?) has stepped down as director of the CIA and admitted having an affair.
November 10, 2012 at 9:54 am #36358BonbonParticipantHow often do we see a woman doing something like this? So many powerful men ruining their life for brief moments of pleasure. I don’t understand it.
One thing I really admired about my DH#2 was that he told me I’d never have to worry about him having an affair because, if it ever got to that point, he’d tell me first. Silly, yes, but I trusted him implicitly.
November 10, 2012 at 1:56 pm #36360caseyParticipant“powerful.” These men come into a position where they think they are above it all and can get away with anything. What though has always infuriated me is how society labels so many men as “womanizers.” Uh – hello, doesn’t it take two to tango? Like with Tiger Woods and his parade of women. They all knew he was married with a family, yet jumped into bed with him because he’s a celeb. They are just as much to blame but no one seems to come down on them. I guess because technically they are not breaking their own wedding vows. But that’s a copout as far as I see it.
November 10, 2012 at 2:14 pm #36362justwonderingParticipantI totally agree with you, Casey. I does take two. In today’s society, these "girls" are not wide eyed youngster with stars in their eyes. They have their own agenda. Whether it is to capture a powerful man, gain some type of notoriety, earn money and fame, they are not pure of heart. How many have published books on their situations? They are just as bad. I don’t buy that they are seduced and niave.
This woman IS married with a young family, so she has much to lose. I guess no one takes vows seriously,
November 10, 2012 at 8:01 pm #36352PattiParticipantand the only thing that was missed was "T" and his girlfriend trying to talk Sonny into calling Will, and then back to the Brady Pub with Gabbi trying to convince Will to call Sonny. It came back with Daniel talking down Nicole from cutting her throat with the scapel she intended on using on Jennifer. He did and she was taken to the hospital.
and I am as disgusted as everyone else when it comes to interrupting DOOL or any other soap for a conference. But, the President’s interruption was very brief, and it was to the advantage of everyone who pays taxes, as it was primarily focused on the fiscal cliff about to come to fruition on January 1st where payroll taxes will be increased IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BUSH mantra, which was was due to take effect on January 1, 2011, but was extended and now ends on December 31st, 2012. The President is meeting with other leaders next week to try and stop taxes from being raised on January 1st, along with other matters of immediate concern. I give him credit for letting people know that he is trying stop payroll taxes from being increased effective January 1, 2013. That was about it.
Incidentally, I just realized what I like about "T" …. it’s his voice.
