Could Matthew Ashford overact any harder? GEEEZZZ….he kills me. Every, single, line is overdone. I’ve never like the character and I’m disliking him even more the third (or is it the fourth) time around. Jenn needs to run as fast as she can into the arms of Dr. Dan. And never look back.
October 11, 2011 at 8:49 pm #27441NoraParticipantI Couldnt agree more!!!!!! I Cant stand Jack!!!!!
October 11, 2011 at 9:15 pm #27443DebbiParticipantDoes anyone like Jack and Jenn together?
October 11, 2011 at 9:30 pm #27444PattiParticipantthey will calm him down to a point where I can say I love them again. Right now, I’m kind of torn as to whether I want them back together again. Jack needs to grow up and start acting like a normal father and husband, and normal fathers and husbands do not do what Jack did to his family. He needs to realize what his antics cost his family, and what they may cost him if Jen and Abbey decide enoug is enough, but, honestly, I think they have too much history together and it’s obvious they all truly love one another. What I don’t want is for Jack to just skate on by with this and think it iis something he can continue doing to his family whenever he gets the "itch."
October 11, 2011 at 9:35 pm #27445caseyParticipantover the top embarrassing Jack. How ridiculous does a father look bursting in on his college-aged daughter “forbidding” her to see a guy? Jack claims he’s changed and ready to do anything to get his family back. I sure hope Days doesn’t keep this guy stuck in the past.
I know many like(d) Jack but I was never one. When he decides to mature some, I’ll reconsider.October 11, 2011 at 9:49 pm #27447BonbonParticipantyou have to admit, today, Jack was Jack.
I’m hoping Jen will stay with Dan but you know what that means…they’re break ’em up. If Jack doesn’t get back with Jen, what will be his purpose on the show?
And I’m wondering if he really did get kidnapped or is it just a story.
October 11, 2011 at 9:55 pm #27450majencoParticipantI like Jack but I can certainly understand why many do not. His antics can be hard to stomach. He and Jen have a long and storied history together and he wasn’t always this buffoon. He was a journalist and once he raped Kayla so he was a bad guy too. Jen redeemed him and he did get to be a better character. It remains to be seen which Jack we will ultimately end up with now though.
October 11, 2011 at 11:16 pm #2745353tdogsParticipantbecome such a baffoon, and he’s started out again the same by falling in the cake at the first scene so I’m not holding out much hope for any changes in him.
October 12, 2011 at 1:14 am #27462justwonderingParticipantActually, I think that Jack reacted the was most dads would on finding Chad alone with his daughter in a state of semi undress. Add to that the fact that Jack knows Chad is a DiMera and he feels Chad is dangerous. As for forbidding—that is definitely something a dad would do, especailly an absentte dad who is trying to regain control of his family.
October 12, 2011 at 12:34 pm #27472layseaParticipantto kidnap Jack again and take him far, far away!!!!
October 12, 2011 at 12:40 pm #27473PattiParticipantAbbey looked like she had no top on and Chad was straddled over her with his hands on her back. For all Jack knew, she was being held down. His reaction may have been a little impatient, but understanding, to me at least. I know Jack wasn’t always a good guy, but when it’s your own child, well — that’s a horse of a different color to me. I felt he did exactly what any father would in that situation. The rest of the scene was OTT, I’ll agree; however, I thought that Abbey was doing just fine putting Jack in his place; there was no need for Chad to chime in and demand that Jack leave as well. I do like Abbey with Chad, but, like Daniel, Chad needs to let Abbey solve this; otherwise, she may wind up resenting him (Chad) for it later. By the way, Kate Mansi is a wonderful young actress. I love her in the role of Abigail Devereaux, even more than Ashley Benson. She is so convincing, especially now with the mixed emotions she is feeling where Jack is concerned. I just can’t stop bragging about DOOL, and boy does that feel good.
October 12, 2011 at 1:27 pm #27481luckeyParticipantAbby and Chad. I do think he reacted much as a dad would in real life. However, the rest of his scenes were horrible! He’s so hard to watch with his speed talking and agitated movements. I recall him being like that in the past and maybe it’s because we haven’t seen him in awhile; but, he seems to be more extreme than he used to be. I’d just as soon see him go away again if that’s the way we’re going to see him from now on.
October 12, 2011 at 1:46 pm #27484mommytutuParticipantbut I absolutely hated him yesterday. I’m ready for him to leave. That is so sad. Poor Matt Ashford, comes back to Days only to be given a role that makes the fans want him to be kidnapped and hauled off again. Not liking him, not liking the way he reacted to Abby and Chad.
October 12, 2011 at 2:06 pm #27487IzzyBParticipantI loved Jenn and Jack together. It was my first supercouple that I watched (I started in 88). Jack was always nervous around Jenn and did stupid things when they were first together. It was great back then, but the nervousness should be gone now after their history. So like Sami who took forever to grow up, I feel like the writers have a hard time having Jack grow up. I would love to see it happen, but not sure it will. So time will only tell whether I will like Jenn and Jack or if they will be a bust like the last time they were on the show.
October 12, 2011 at 3:50 pm #27490DeeLanParticipantI’m giving Jack’s story a bit longer before I make a decision about it and him. Letting it fall into place and see if he grows and learns from what his family is telling him.
I’m giving these new writers some time with him also since the old writers wrote him into this type of character with his "walkabout" and they’re trying to figure out a way to bring him back and write him out of this mess without changing the history that’s already been established for him.
