Caught the tv interview w/this duo last night and I’m not sure this nasty split is entirely one-sided.
Like all the girls in the Bachelor house, I too never liked Vienna. And her non-stop yacking/dramatics last night did not help her cause.
Yet for a little while now, I’ve been thinking Jake is maybe not the too good to be true guy of your dreams he’s been made out to be. I think he can be a bit regimented and intractable, wants things his way and showed evidence he can have a temper like Vienna suggested.
Above all, these two are entirely a personality clash and would never have made a go of it.
I hope we’ve seen the last of this overplayed drama.July 6, 2010 at 2:39 pm #14222DeeLanParticipantHow many couples on that show have had a public split or fight? I look at any reality show as part reality part fiction and they are all playing parts. It’s all drama for the ratings, they get together on the show then split afterwords but it still keeps the show in the news until next season and far beyond.
July 6, 2010 at 4:16 pm #14226PattiParticipantbut Vienna had a way of making people dislike her by opening herself up to all sorts of criticism from fans of the show. But, if we are to believe what we see in print, she was really disliked by members of DWTS as well. I read several articles that said she wanted to be in the spot-light so bad that she just made herself look bad in the eyes of the cast of DWTS. Personally, I think it’s just her personality. She is spoiled beyond belief, and she expected him (Jake) to give her what she was accustomed to, and he wasn’t having it. On the other hand, he definitely did show signs of an aggressive nature, and that I didn’t like about him. Then, I have to ask myself if that’s the way it really was, or was he telling the truth when he said he ‘couldn’t get a word in,’ because that was obvious last night. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors, but they are obviously no good for each other and it’s best they found that out before they married rather than after.
July 6, 2010 at 4:56 pm #14228SWParticipantor if it was just for the publicity for a future career but Vienna didn’t show herself in a good light during the actual show or at the after the break-up show. I think she is very immature (possibly due to her age and it seemed like her Daddy made her think she was a princess and entitled). I didn’t think they’d make it when he picked her. It was more like he picked someone who he could ‘play’ with and she wanted the prize of winning. Hmmm, does that sound like Sami??? lol
July 6, 2010 at 8:24 pm #14234BonbonParticipantI never watched the show and only know Jake from DWTS and thought he was a pretty decent guy but from the clips I’ve seen of last night’s interview, he sure came across as arrogant, vindictive, and smarmy. Was he actually that way? I know they have a way of editing those things to give the viewers the impression they are after but it sure wasn’t the Jake I saw on DWTS.

July 6, 2010 at 10:42 pm #14241SWParticipantas like I said, I’m not really sure why they decide to do the show. They all claim that it’s to find true love but there are way too many of them that it comes out after that they only did it to advance/promote a career in entertainment. I also find that the person I would have picked, with one exception – Trista and Ryan, the ‘bach’ doesn’t pick. Most don’t last. But, yes, I did originally think Jake was a good guy but after choosing Vienna, I had my doubts about him. lol
July 7, 2010 at 12:02 am #14242luckeyParticipantit was interesting. ET had a body language expert on and she was totally anti-Jake. She said that Jake’s chopping gesture when he wanted Vienna to stop interrupting him was indications of physical violence. I think that was going a little to far; but, that’s just my personal opinion. She didn’t say anything negative about Vienna at all. She also said Jake’s tone of voice was very condescending and was like a father scolding his child.
Niecy Nash on ET totally believes Vienna having met her on DWTS when she danced with Jake on the finale. She said she could tell that Niecy was sincere with all of her emotions last night. Not sure how she can be so sure of that when she only met her once.
Personally, I think both of them are media addicts who wanted to have a few more minutes in front of a national TV audience. Jake did seem arrogant and Vienna did seem very immature. Abc benefitted from their need to be on display again.
