ALI CELEBRATES 20 YEARS IN SALEM…AND LEADS THE MONTHLY RANKINGS TOO: Alison Sweeney led the monthly rankings as she celebrated her 20th anniversary with the show. Sweeney has now led the rankings 37 times during her "Days" career: 2/95, 8/95, 6/96, 9/96, 8/97, 5/98, 6/98, 7/98, 8/98, 12/98, 9/99, 2/01, 3/02, 8/02, 8/03, 12/03, 11/04, 5/05, 8/05, 9/05, 12/05, 3/06, 6/06, 7/06, 8/06, 4/07, 5/07, 8/07, 10/07, 11/07, 12/07, 10/08, 8/10, 3/12, 9/12, 10/12 and 1/13. She is now 6th place all-time on the monthly leader list, behind Peter Reckell (Bo, 46 times), Macdonald Carey (Tom, 44 times), Drake Hogestyn (John, 41 times), Kristian Alfonso (Hope, 38 times) and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie, 38 times). MECARTEA’s FINAL EPISODE AIRS: Mike Mecartea, one of the two regular "Days" cameramen for the past 20 years, retired after 35 years with NBC in October 2012. His final episodes behind the camera aired this week. Mecartea, who joined NBC in 1978, was a substitute cameraman for "Days" in the 1980’s and joined "Days" full-time at the end of 1992 when "Santa Barbara" was cancelled. He was nominated for 6 Daytime Emmy Awards during his time at "Days."
