October 19, 2011 at 12:20 pm #27739PattiParticipantbut that’s because I want this story to move just a bit faster than it is. I want to see John and Marlena interact with other cast besides Carrie. I did have to laugh yesterday because John completely lost it over Marlena confronting Stefano, while Marlena remained cool as a cucumber with his anger and his remarks …. sort of just letting him spout off knowing all the while she was going to be there for him in every way possible, including going up against Stefano. I laughed out loud when she turned to answer the door and he gestured like he wanted to strangle her for being so stubborn. I do hope we start making some progress in the story soon, though. Hopefully, the trial will be more exciting. I am looking forward to that. I still have a little trouble picturing Carrie a a lawyer, though.
October 19, 2011 at 4:20 pm #27750NoraParticipantWhat was Carrie doing before she left Salem with Austin??
October 19, 2011 at 4:26 pm #27752SWParticipantis what I remember. She left before with Mike Horton and ran a women’s clinic in Israel with him. How she found time to become a lawyer is one of those ‘magic’ degrees that people get when they leave Salem for a year. It seems to work the same way that kids go off to boarding school or visit Grandparents and return as 16 year olds.
October 19, 2011 at 4:31 pm #27753DeeLanParticipantShe was CEO of a company called High Style based in Los Angeles. If I remember Lucas and Austin both were trying to take over the company for their respective companies of course neither knew Carrie involved with High Style.
October 19, 2011 at 4:33 pm #2775453tdogsParticipantthree month hiatus that I missed a lot more than I thought I had when Carrie came back as an attorney with enough experience in a court room to save someone (i.e. John) as the accused and convicted Bernie Madoff. And I’d thought she was with Mike Horton…???? When did she and Austin get together (as Austin mentioned they had been married five years a couple of shows ago)….??? These are things on the show that drive me crazy!!! I know my memory isn’t what it used to be but come on….
October 19, 2011 at 6:54 pm #27758IzzyBParticipantThey left together to move to Switzerland. They got married before they left and they have been gone for five years. In that time she went back to school to become a lawyer. I believe she already had her four year degree, so it would be two to become a lawyer. So she could be practicing for 2 1/2 years. While this would not be a lot normally to take on a big case, it is not like she had an option. Plus she has her entire firm behind her.
The one part of this SL that I do not like, is that they still live in switzerland. I wish the writers would have had them move into the states, go to school, and get jobs. That would make all of this a little more realistic. They could have done that without re-writing history since no one has really talked about where they live since Will came back from living with them. So it would have been very easy to do that.
