    John Clarke, who played Mickey on Days for 39 years, has died at the age of 88.

    I watched him on the show from the start and always thought he was such a classy actor. I missed him when he left the show and retired in 2004.

     Was he in bad health or just wanting to get out of acting?  May he RIP.

    I recall reading that his doctor advised him to retire from acting in 2004 due to health problems and the strain of working.  Back in 2007, John Clarke suffered a stroke and his heath had been declining in the years since his health crisis.
