I noticed in another thread, that somebody picked up on this too.
I thought Sami named him, "Johnny" (after John [Black])
Stefano, being from the old contry, has always called him Giovanni.
But lately I noticed Kate, and maybe somebody else, call him Gianni…
So which one is it? I’m confused.

sounds like Jo-vanni. Stephano only calls him that because he’s Italian. I think he also might be doing it to get Sami’s goat. I’ve never heard anyone say ‘Gianni.’
Giada de Laurentis (the Italian chef on The Food Network) pronounces her name like ‘Jadda.’ I guess the ‘i’ is silent in these names.
Gianni. I heard somebody else say it too but I forget whom.
I’ve heard the name before, but I forget what nationality (Portuguese maybe… I knew a kid by that name, and there was a large Portuguese/Portuguese-Brazllian population where I grew up).

After the birth, Johnny is revealed to be E.J.’s son and Allie is revealed to be Lucas’s daughter. Later on, a vendetta occurs between the Bradys and the DiMeras, so Sami had to create peace by annulling her marriage with Lucas and marry E.J. as a way of protecting her family.
I mentioned it and it’s driving me nuts! Sami did name him Johnny. Stefano called him Giovanni, just to get under Sami’s skin. But with Kate throwing in the "Gianni" it is making me crazy. Can they please pick a name, call the kid that name and leave it at that.
as she seemed to emphasize the first syllable, saying GEE-anni. I picked up on it thinking, ok, last I watched it was Johnny or Giovanni so when did it become Gianni?
