Two days now and no one’s talked about it, and I know most are disgusted that it has even been written, since the whole plot revolves around E.J. and Sami, IMO. However, that being said, I’m probably going to be hissed at or worse, but I’m really impressed with the actors, especially the twins who play Johnny DiMera. He about tore my heart out yesterday, and Alison and James were wonderful. It’s heartbreaking, to say the least, but the past two days have given me a whole new outlook on their acting abilities. True, the story line is grossing me out, and the tears started Monday and haven’t stopped yet, and I’m sure today will be even worse, but, honestly, I’m looking at these actors involved with the story in a whole new light. I’m trying to place myself in Sami and E.J.’s shoes, and I suppose unless you’ve walked in them, it’s unimaginable to do so. I almost feel sorry for E.J., since he is totally alone through this, except for Lexi, while Sami does have support from Rafe, and from her family; but, when the sympathy wears off, I realize he is simply the same person underneath the pain, and will return to his vile self as soon as he realizes that Johnny did not die on the operating table. Sami is still out of control, as usual, when it comes to butting heads with E.J., and if ever she needed to have someone like Rafe around her, it’s now; but I have to say that the scenes she shared with Johnny yesterday were the best acting I’ve seen from Ali in a very long time. Loved Rafe and Lexi, and thank God for them, since they seem to be the only ones thinking more of Johnny than his parents, who continue to goad each other with threats and innuendos so not needed right about now. I wish Lexi would have thrown them both out of the hospital yesterday. Love Rafe’s respect in backing off to let Sami and E.J. have their time with Johnny as his loving parents. Guy’s got a lotta’ class, IMO. Anyway, sad as it may be, I’m enjoying every minute of this story line right about now and hope that both Sami and E.J. learn from this horrible tragedy to listen to Lexi, grow up, and for one single minute think more of their son’s future than they do of their own.
December 22, 2010 at 2:55 pm #19272trykeryderParticipantabout the acting. And you are right about EJ returning to himself…he’s already told Sami they are back to her not seeing the kids.
What I’m seeing is pure jealousy on his part. The looks EJ is giving Sami every time she turns to Rafe would kill if they could, while he has no one to lean on.
December 22, 2010 at 2:57 pm #19273NoraParticipanti actually agree Patti, I thought Sami and EJ have been doing a great job. Same with Johnny, love that little guy! And yes Ali is great with Johnny. All their scenes together are very touching. EJ included. I actually feel alittle sorry for him too since he is all alone, I thought he’d ask Nicole to come to the hospital to be with him. And I’m surprised that he hasnt called Stefano to let him know.
December 22, 2010 at 3:22 pm #19275caseyParticipantregardless of whether someone may be feeding him lines. Anyone know the age of the twins? Here are kids who have been asked to be pawns between fighting parents and now have to act in hospital scenes, You’ve gotta give the J boys props for being such troopers.
And did you see Johnny sucking his thumb? So cute!
Have to admit, he rules the screen when he’s on.December 22, 2010 at 3:26 pm #19276dvalParticipantWhen they told Johnny they were going to have to take his eye and he said, okay, when will they bring it back? Oh my goodness, tearing my heart out.
And EJ, EJ, EJ, if only he could display his sensitive side more frequently maybe the character wouldn’t be so bad but every time little Johnny hugs his mother or tells her he loves her, that look of absolute evil and jealousy goes across EJ’s face and boom, right back to his nasty old self.
But all of the actors have been superb, I think, through this whole thing, even Lexie putting aside her anger at Sami and handling the whole thing so professionally and Rafe being respectful of EJ’s place in Johnny’s life, even though it is obviously killing him to do so. Hate the story, love the actors.
December 22, 2010 at 5:06 pm #19279bluebonnetParticipantI get the feeling that EJ would love to hug Sami and share his sorrow with her, but of course he can’t. Rafe is there, plus EJ’s pride would stand in the way.
December 22, 2010 at 9:06 pm #19282PattiParticipantI must withdraw every sympathetic thought that may have crossed my mind with regard to E.J. He is a pig from hell and he deserves to be alone, and that includes the loss of his children.
December 22, 2010 at 9:49 pm #19285NoraParticipantMe too Patti, I knew my tiny little bit of sympathy I had for him wouldnt last hardly anytime at all. I absolutely hate this character.
How rediculous was Vivian today making everyone sing Christmas Carols? Stupid!
December 22, 2010 at 9:59 pm #19286annieoParticipantI would get the gist of the scenes and then hit FF. EJ’s character is so despicable I can’t watch, plus the blinking drives me nuts. Seems to me the doctors could intervene on who gets to see Johnny and/or who stays. I also agree that Vivian was ridiculous today. And what was that comment from the prisoner to the warden – you liked her because she has blond hair – is the warden suppose to be a lesbian? Could this prison story get any worse?
December 22, 2010 at 10:51 pm #19287caseyParticipantShe also said Bo’s cheekbones were like K.D. Lang’s.
December 22, 2010 at 11:24 pm #19288BonoSugaRayParticipantI enjoyed EJ on today’s show! [No surprise there, eh? lol] I loved when he told Sami she was "toxic" and "pollutes" everyone/everything(?) she’s around! I also enjoyed his facial expressions, etc. And lil’ Johnny is AMAZING! Give the little guy an award already!
December 23, 2010 at 2:36 am #19297PattiParticipantfor E.J. to jump up on his hoofs with his forked tongue flying out of his mouth, spewing green vomit, pitchfork in hand, with those pointy little ears turning blood red, speaking in tongues, and …… oh-oh, wait a minute, you WERE talking about Rosemary’s Baby all grown up, right??? (LMAO). When E.J. DiMera references words and phrases like "toxic" and "pollutes everyone/everything they’re around, you can bet the farm he’s writing his autobiography.
December 23, 2010 at 4:10 am #19298majencoParticipantYeah I cought that too. Could this be any more cliche? Lame!
December 23, 2010 at 1:43 pm #19306luckeyParticipantyesterday’s show. I was wondering if you’d post again after you watched yesterday’s show. Sure enough, you did me proud with your second one! I always look forward to your thoughts because they mirror mine so closely and you express them so eloquently!
December 23, 2010 at 3:19 pm #19308PattiParticipantand, although most won’t agree with me, I really do try to look for even the most minute sign of good in Junior’s personality defects; however, they seem to have about as much chance of showing up as hunting for fly feces in a bowl of pepper…..with a magnifying glass. (LOL) Merry Christmas!
