I think his friend from the FBI called him as a favor. And he would be able to arrest John as he is in law enforcement. I took it as a favor from a friend he knew when he was in the FBI, not as the FBI asking him to arrest John.
October 3, 2011 at 11:48 am #27036BonbonParticipantI saw it too, IzzyB. I didn’t find it strange at all. The FBI buddy knew Rafe’s relationship to John and probably thought either Rafe would want to do it or that it might go smoother if he did.
October 3, 2011 at 4:20 pm #27044PattiParticipantis going to jeopardize Rafe’s job with the Salem P.D., since he was notified by his friend at the FBI and actually made the arrest instead of his friend. It certainly will cause tension between Rafe and Sami, and I’m not looking forward to that direction, if in fact it goes that way. But, on the other hand, don’t most local cop shops have bulletins on their walls about the FBI’s most wanted criminals, and if this is crime is going to be such a big deal of a story, why wouldn’t Roman and Bo have known about it already? In any event, I find this storyline interesting already.
October 3, 2011 at 4:27 pm #27045SWParticipantRafe is going to be very suspcious of what is going on with this case and will be helping, not hurting. There’s a lot of things going to be involved with John’s arrest which will bring in several of Salem’s residents.
October 3, 2011 at 9:05 pm #27048BonbonParticipantperpretators of white collar crimes are ever on the ten most wanted list or even on the bulletin boards. They usually know where there people are all the time so don’t have to be "on the look-out" for them. So it wouldn’t be unusual for the local cops to be totally unaware of an FBI case.
In fact, I’m wondering if maybe John didn’t even have any knowledge of the embezzlement and that is was something someone else at Black Financial Services is envolved in. He could even be covering for someone.
October 3, 2011 at 11:52 pm #27051PattiParticipantbut I’m awfully suspicious of both Brady and Austin where John is concerned. Brady because of the way he has been acting toward John since he came back, and Austin because he concealed from Carrie the fact that he was working on the case with the FBI. Something just seems fishy to me where these two are concerned.
October 4, 2011 at 11:28 am #27052SWParticipantI believe since Austin is investigating for the FBI, there is a confidentiality issue. You can’t talk to anyone including family when you are investigating a criminal case. He could be in trouble too for talking. Yes, it’s out now, but John has been arrested. Carrie is upset reasonably but… as a lawyer, she should know he couldn’t tell her!
Brady on the other hand has been showing his K side and even Victor wasn’t happy with what he was doing.
October 4, 2011 at 2:01 pm #27056luckeyParticipantemployees is a DiMera infiltrator.
October 4, 2011 at 4:37 pm #27063DeeLanParticipantWasn’t Kate involved with Basic Black at one time. I’m thinking this leads back to Kate and/or Stefano in some way.
October 5, 2011 at 12:02 am #27083CatLady54ParticipantDaniel make the arrest and say he’s also an FBI agent.
October 5, 2011 at 11:51 am #27092BonbonParticipantThey are everywhere else. I’m sure that snarky cop was one of them. Good God, didn’t you just want to slap his arrogant face?
October 5, 2011 at 3:54 pm #27120PattiParticipantthe neck for speaking to Hope in that manner; but then, of course, he would have filed a complaint against Bo and Bo and Hope just have too much to worry about right now. They can and probably will deal with this jerk later on. So, are we supposed to think that since the DiMeras have their own Salem PD cops on the payroll, that this guy was one of them; and, on either Stefano’s or E.J.’s orders, arranged the beating and that the DiMeras are very likely behind John’s problems after all?
October 5, 2011 at 5:08 pm #27129BonbonParticipantI think we’re looking at a Mayor Richard J. Daly (Chicago in the ’50s) with EJ here. Really nice guy on the outside but his fingers controlling everything else in the background.
October 5, 2011 at 5:24 pm #27131DeeLanParticipantYes, The Machine was alive in Chicago for many years.
