ParticipantI just thought this was pretty cool…For those who don’t know, he played the character Michael Hogan (the father) on the sitcom, "The Hogan Family." I love this theme song. Enjoy!…And feel free to SING-A-LONG! http://www.youtube.com/watch
OLDER SEASON VERSION below
..
And here’s one when the show was FIRST CALLED "VALERIE"! (Those who remember this sitcom, do you know why the name got changed to "Hogan Family," and another woman played the mother character?)http://www.youtube.com/watch

ParticipantI do remember that show! And what happened was that Valerie Harper decided to leave the show (can’t remember why) so they had her character die and the dad’s sister (Sandy) came to live with them to help him with the kids. So yes, she was a new mother figure, but it wasn’t that they changed actresses and had someone else playing the mom.

ParticipantValery Harper didn’t leave so much as she was fired for insisting on more money and the network wouldn’t give it to her. That’s why they brought in Sandy Duncan. Valery was one of many who have made such a mistake. Add to that David Carruso and the latest, Rob Lowe for leaving Brothers and Sisters. They always think they’re worth more than they really are.

Participantfor $$$$$ – from what I read she wanted more money than they wanted to pay what she thought she was worth – (that show she was on wasn’t like "Friends" where they all banded together to get a million an episode each and could carry the threat of leaving the show – because the show made so much money in advertisements) – Valerie left the show – Sandy came in and then the show folded that next season.

ParticipantI’ve never watched "Brothers and Sisters" and was not aware that Rob Lowe was leaving the show. He left "The West Wing" after one season, because he thought the show would revolve around his character, but Martin Sheen became so popular playing the president that the show’s focus shifted to him.

ParticipantAs I recall, they actually killed off Valerie’s character on the show. Pretty bold for a sitcom.

ParticipantI read he is leaving because his character is not used enough. ABC is putting him on a new show, I think. And Chad Lowe directed one episode of Bros and Sis.
