He will be back the week of September 19 and he will be a wealthy, famous Bollywood producer of all things. Madam will not be able to resist him!. Sounds like fun.
August 22, 2011 at 7:06 pm #26037annieoParticipantThis is from Aug15-28 issue – Her former manservant and sidekick Ivan, now a rolling-in-dough film producer, shows up in full Bollywood drag and sweeps his "Madame" off to India to make her a star! Sorel is not pleased, to put it mildly.
"This turns my character into an idiot, a cartoon," says the actres. "it’s embarassing and pathetic for a woman Vivian’s age to suddenly announce she’s going to be in Bollywood movies! I expressed my opinion to one of the producers much more crassly than I had intended because I was just so full of sadness and rage."
It didn’t help that Sorel was fired in a graceless manner. "There was never a thank you, never a goodbye" she says. But it’s not just Days. That’s the way it’s done everywhere now. There is a lack of respect from those up above for the people who are doing all the work. It’s like you don’t exist."
At least Sorel finds herself in good company. [I’m abbreviating here] Also ousted are Chloe, Carly, Taylor. "Days is simply rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic," Sorel says of the radical revamp. [The article had more, but that’s the main gist.]
August 23, 2011 at 1:51 am #26046dvalParticipantfrom these comments. I thought it would be neat for Viv to ride of with Ivan who I thought she really always beloned with. But I guess it is done in a cheesy manner judging by these comments.
August 23, 2011 at 2:24 am #26047DeeLanParticipantWith any luck this is one of the scripts the new writers rewrote and it will be better than the spoilers are letting on.
August 23, 2011 at 3:46 am #2603853tdogsParticipantwith Ivan…they were meant to be together, but I have to agree with Louise, the way these people are fired is wrong…but then life isn’t fair – I hope Louise has a wonderful life, in-spite of how the writers treated her character over the years with disrespect and made Vivy lampoonish, Louise has always soldiered through – I’ve always liked her.
As for Chloe, they (the writers/show) could have done so much more with her character and the actress talent in singing, instead of making her a walking talking Barbie doll all those years. For about a week when she had her breakdown this past spring, you could see she had such a great potential as an actress, if it was her choice to dress the way she did in every scene as a "doll", then good bye and good riddance – however, if it was the show not letting her get to her full potential as an actress, then shame on them.
I’m going to miss Carley – I’ve always liked her, she (character) has gotten a lot of bad breaks over the years, I wonder how many of us living in hell like she supposedly did with Lawernce, wouldn’t take a knife to him? Making someone give up their child and keep them locked up even in a guilded cage, would drive most of us to Lorena Bobbit the guy first.
As for this "Taylor" all I see is Ava, the actress never grew on me, the prior Taylor was in the mud to begin with as she went after her sister’s new hubby (no matter how much of a sham and shame Nicole’s marriage was to EJ), she had two strikes against her then at the get-go, (I never noticed her "breathless-ness" as many of you did, I just didn’t care for the story line. (Please ‘scuze the spelling folks – I didn’t want a senior moment to happen and lose my last train of thought)…
August 23, 2011 at 10:36 am #26050BonbonParticipantShe went off on a tyrant the last time they let her go. And now she’s doing it again. Bad-mouthing your employer to the public is certainly burning bridges she can’t afford (at her age) to do. So, they didn’t give her a gold watch and a big send-off party. She’s just not that special.
She needs to understand that it’s not personal, it’s the bottom line that they are thinking about. I have a feeling she is probably not the nicest person to work with and that may have had something to do with the way she was notified.
August 23, 2011 at 1:09 pm #26057luckeyParticipantcartoon character? Where has she been!? Vivian has always been a cartoon character to me! Personally, I think it’s very appropriate that she is sent off in the same ridiculous manner that she was throughout her whole time on Days! I’m glad she’s going!
August 24, 2011 at 2:09 pm #26079justwonderingParticipantI don’t think she should complain. She is in good company—-Deidre and Drake were let go and they are higher profile than she is. Bryan was let go at least 3 times. Also Christie and Thaoo. So join the group. It all depends on the plot. Nothing personal. If she hates it so, why did she agree to come back? Oh—its work and a pay check!!
