just saw a Facebook post about Greg vaughan

back in August that he "signed a new contract," and said he was "happy about it," when in fact all he did was "extend" his contract a few months to complete his departure from the show, which had already been decided by TPTB by then.  It doesn’t surprise me that he’s leaving….his storyline was boring at best.  He should have remained a priest; that’s was when he was at his best for me. Most posters on message boards and social media I’ve seen were so sure they were going to put Eric back with Nicole after Daniel leaves.  I don’t know how he exits…if he will die, go to jail for killing Daniel as most people suspect, or just decide to leave Salem; but whatever the exit sl will be, it’s time for Eric to go. Personally, I don’t think he’s the only current cast member who will be written out.  It does surprise me that a lot of actors, vets included, who are leaving are very popular characters that fans are really going to miss.  Wonder why that is???  Whether the show will be renewed or not should be announced sometime prior to February sweeps…probably in January.  Hope this isn’t some sort of mad cryptic exodus taking place here.

 Ok, so TPTB planned a huge celebration for the 50th.

Promised to bring back lots of old characters. They delivered. Sami, Andre, Steve, ever popular Bo, Doug, Julie, Gabby.

So the ball begfroe the wedding was the "big celebration"? I thought it was a dud!

one by one, the people that have kept the show going the last few years are being shown the door!! 

We already know that Daniel’s days are numbered. Now Eric is leaving. We have already suffered through several murders, especially Will and of course the end of Bo. There is talk that Jack is returning? for a few episodes. I thought something was up since Jen has been talking about Jack alot lately (sure sign someone is coming). 

It was also announced that Andrienne and Justin have been taken off contract. I have to wonder if Nicole, Jen, Roman, and even Marlena and John will be next. There wont be anyone to have theHorton ornaments at this rate. 

I wonder if this is the beginning of the end.

 

 

I was enamored with her return right up until she got the letter. Then the story turn a sharp turn for me and now she’s gone more than she’s here. I don’t care that she’s stolen Stefanos money, I wanted more family interaction.

Sami stormed in and stormed out. Truthfully I don’t understand the point (beyond the 50th celebration) of Days trotting out these historic characters for a brief stint and then off canvas again. It interrupts the flow of major SLs. Having said that though, once we get to the new year I would guess things should settle down more on that front?

 Agree with you Patti, but it is not just those that came for the 50th! Actaully, most of the vets came to the party not to the show. That being said, veterans who have been on the last year or so are also being given the boot! It alsmot like geust staring on a tv show, they come and go. 

I still feel the "bicentenial celebration" was like a prop. After all the hype, it was nothing. To tell the truth, I am getting tired of funerals cause there are way to many lately for a town the size of Salem!!

I am concerned that the new generation (tweens) won’t be able to carry the show.
